I am going to spray paint the winterseed patch orange and red, turn it upside down, and say the icicles are flames.  It was hot (98+) and Davilla windy in FBG.  But once again a shooter transformed herself into a Riflewoman.  Stargnoc Debra Peters.  We had enough canopies for 22 shooters plus the crew, except for those working on their vitamin D content.  Yes, some looked like rock lobsters.

Thank you to everyone for persisting throughout a hot, windy and somewhat dusty weekend without complaint.  A great way to spend Memorial Day weekend honoring our forefathers.

Rodger, Jerry and Mark C. thank you for setting up the line Friday.  I do believe Tonya and Rodger will be official Applecore although taking that Marines cap off Rodger's head will not happen.  I will give him a blue hat anyway.  Tonya, Rodger and Jerry make FBG happen.  Mark M. thank you for coming Sunday.

Everett, always a pleasure, ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, I will never get that plastic Russian out of my head.

Until next time...

Tommy,

I wanted to say thanks for your patience with me and must say the "Thumb Up" trick did help on my trigger hold.  After getting home and reviewing my rifle, I found the stock ruger bolt handle bent which was causing the bolt to shift to the left which threw off the firing pin and extractor.  My rear sight was also loose and must have been that way all weekend.  No wonder I couldn't get any consistent groups  >:(  I've ordered some new parts and will have those installed and tested before the next Appleseed in either Fredericksburg or possibly earlier in Davilla.  Thanks again Everett, Tommy, Rodger, Jerry, Tanya, and Mark for another incredible Fredericksburg shoot.

What did you do for Memorial Day weekend?  How about Shake and Bake. 100 degrees and 35+ gusty winds.  :D

Aside from that, we had a great Appleseed event.  O0 Some 25+ shooters from all over the state assembled to drink from the fire hose of knowledge. Thank you to all who attended.  ^:)^
The green lines represent the distances the participants drove, the yellow lines are instructors. WOW!  :)

Congratulations Debra on your rifleman score.  O0 Looks like your husband has some catching up to do.  ~~:)

Thanks Tommy and Bryanna, Evert, Jerry, and Mark for your excellent instruction. True Patriots all!  ^:)^

Folks, when you look at the following pictures pay close to attention to Randy and his bolt action rifle. While he didn't quite make it to rifleman he was really close. It was amazing to watch him work the action. Another WOW!  :~

As always, we enjoy meeting and making new friends and we enjoy seeing our old friends again and again.   ;) By the way, I picked up the Ducks Unlimited hat that blew off the car and put it in the trailer. You can retrieve it next time we meet.  :cool2:

Okay, as they say--Pictures or it didn't happen!

Be patient, there's lots to load.

A moral compass provides a basis for making decisions; an action is good or bad, right or wrong when viewed in the light of the individual's moral bearing. If no moral compass exists for the individual, then decisions and actions are made on the basis of purely subjective thoughts. This leads to "If it makes me happy, or makes me feel good, or if it's something I simply want to do, then it is right and good."

It was a wonderful weekend - hot, windy - nothing like a little extra challenge.  :)

Thank you all for a wonderful time - Tommy, Everett, Jerry, Rodger, Tonya, and Mark, as well as all the other shooters. I can't think of a better way to spend a Memorial Day weekend! The new techniques for shooting are great and much appreciated. But being my first Appleseed, I also really appreciated the history lesson. Can't wait to get Paul Revere's Ride.

Next time, I hope the wind isn't quite so blustery. I'd really like to try some different seated positions. The taller positions (like sitting on my heal in a pseudo kneeling pose) just made a perfect sail to have my aim tossed all around this time.
