Is there an Appleseed Emergency Plan for events, say at the ASC (IL)?  Does the Aurora Sportsman Club have a range emergency plan we'd follow?  The range rules mention emergency procedures being posted...guess I've never looked for them.

Purpose: Minimize confusion during an emergency and save time responding.

1.   Emergency Immediate Actions
A.   Red Hat takes charge.   "CEASE FIRE!".  All weapons unloaded & cleared.  Participants told to stay in place or directed to a safe location.  Designate IIT's to help.
B.   Render aid.  Determine level of care.
C.   Call For Help.
                                Medical:  911.
Range Address:  On Rueff Rd, east of Rueff & Leland Rd, Waterman, IL
Nearest Hospital:  Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb. [20 miles]
                      Police: 911.  DeKalb Co. Sheriff  (815) 895-2155 24-hr non-emergency
                      Fire: 911.  Waterman Fire Department
D.   Direct Emergency Responders to Location
Position one or more persons to direct the emergency vehicle.

2.   Administrative
              A.  People to contact:
-ASC Range Officer [in what order do they get contacted?]
                    -IL State Coordinator
             B.  Incident reporting

-take notes on times actions happened
-nature & extent of injury
-how did injury occur
-First aid given
-First aid given by:
-location of incident & condition of area
-get statements from witnesses
-preserve the scene
-take photos

C.  Preparation
1.  Inclement Weather
   Lightning: go to car
   Tornado:

2.  Equipment
-First Aid Kit
-Fire Extinguisher
-Weather radio
-ear plugs, loaner safety glasses

Ratchett

BBE,

Do not know the layout of IL ranges, but I do carry colored smoke grenade and look for a designated landing area for life flight if a need should arise for any type emergency. My home range is approx 30 minutes to nearest hospital and when the roads were put in they followed a snake :o The chopper could easily be in and out before a squad could arrive.

Just another thought :)

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom-Unk
