We had a great turn out for the La Crosse Appleseed this weekend with 18 shooters.  Thanks to Colycat, Old Glory, and Mogget for helping steer two new IIT's (me and Blue Five) in the right directions.  Crappy weather yesterday (but everyone seemed to still enjoy shooting) and beautiful weather today.  We were able to move to 100 yards and 300 yards for shooters this afternoon.
Honoring my ancestor, Seth Hall, of the Massachusetts Militia for his sacrifices during our American Revolution that helped to provide freedom for all Americans.

It was definitely a great day today, beautiful weather on a Spring day in Wisconsin.  The shooters were very attentive and wanted to learn.  I myself really enjoyed doing the line commands and working with shooters one on one on what they could do to improve their form.  I enjoyed telling the story of David Lamson as well.

A great weekend, shooters, come back and bring someone with you!  Pictures to follow.

This weekend was my first Appleseed.  Showed up by myself and everyone was tremendously welcoming and helpful.

I have to say, I was impressed with everyone's attitude on Saturday.  Snow, sleet and rain didn't hamper spirits.  Neither did the mud bog we shot from most of the day.  I didn't hear a single person complain.  I guess this is what you can expect from the kind of people that attend an Appleseed.

Congrats to the two Rifleman.  I'm determined to complete this at my next Appleseed!

Thanks to all the volunteers.  You guys were great!

Hey Gabe!
Come back to the La Crosse Rifle Club for the June Appleseed!  You got me thinking about the 6.8 SPC again.

Gabe,
Welcome to the forum!  Mudbog indeed.   I, too, was VERY impressed with the stick-to-it-tive-ness all of the students showed under unusually uncomfortable conditions.

"Folks, this Appleseed thing doesn't work if we get a patch and go home. It doesn't work if we shoot a Rifleman score and remember the good times we had out on the range. It only works if we take that 7th Step and spread the 'seed. HUZZAH!!!"  Slim

The students definitely gave living proof to the phrase "a rifleman persists, adapts, and overcomes".

And nice picture.  I did not let that mud slow me down on clearing those rifles  :)

Laying in 3 inches of mud may build character  ~~:) ~~:)... but it sure doesn't build a good shooting base!!  :sos: :sos:
