Hi,

The post in Deals & Steals for the Ruger Discount program tempts me to buy an extra LTR or two but the FFL's I have spoken to wanted $40.00. This brings the price up to where it is not so much of a deal.

So... does any Illinios AppleSeeder have a FFL? If so would you cut a deal?

Thanks

Keep in mind you are not paying any tax or shipping either. I would still challenge you to find a 10/22 carbine out the door for $211. But I agree FFL transfers are too high. We have a few local dealers here on the island that give discounts to LongIslandfirearms.com members 25$. that keeps it under $200 all said and done. check ur local dealers, try and get other instructors in your area to organise a group buy etc....

Ruger IPP prices for the 2011 program, as listed, freight prepaid, no tax, are #1167, 10/22-CRR @ $195.92 and #1103, 10/22-RB @ $171.74.
Am sure with really diligent searching could beat those prices, but the tax and shipping would also tend to raise the price...some FFLs are nice enough to hadle for little or minimal fee - others looking to amortize the money the gummint charges them to be an FFL...
Ruger will also sell you any other models, of 10/22 or anything else, for appx the same discount.  And, yes, would still have to add studs, swivels, and tech sights, until we convince Ruger to build and market an AS-LTR 10/22...

How does one go about getting an instructor ceritificate that Ruger will recognize?
Do we send them a picture of our hats?

Apple Seed issues credentials to Red Hats. Stick with it and you will be there in no time. While I'm working on my RH, I am using my NRA instructor and DNR hunter safety instructor credentials.

A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks.
