Let's here it for New York City!  Two new Rifleman from the big AppleSeed and another knocking on the door.  Just a note...  I believe there are only two other NYC Riflemen; one is actually a native and an SBOF (shoot boss on fire), and the other has somehow and mysteriously been a Senior Instructor for a million years, so... let's see what happens (Josey Wales, if I'm missing somebody, pm quietly).  Hopefully, Juicer (new shooter - 228 on a borrowed rifle dang!!!) will be an Orange Hat for the LadySeed in June, and don'tcallmeTJ will step up after SunnyAm (knock knock - who's there - rifleman) makes it.  What a gentleman don'tcallmeTJ is, for real; I'm humbled.  Yet I'm very, very proud to watch New Yorkers come out and pay attention to America's most important past-time - shootin' stuff.  sniff - gimme a sec, a little verklempt.  Okay that's better.  We're gonna rent a 15 pass or maybe I'll borrow a production MOHO and we'll get a bunch of G and E folks out to Calverton this spring!  HipsterSeed I'm tellin ya!  We'll set up Krafty (cliffbars - yummy) in the back of VietVet's truck.  We'll use bullets (c-47's) to clip targets to b boards clamped in duckbills on long arms locked to gobos on cardellinis and wear earwigs to run kd while we lay on a line of burritos!  Show 'em what real Talent looks like!  Woohoo!  Rifles are for everyone!  Left, Right, Liberal, Conservative...  Mainland, Island...  Mud Kicker, City Slicker...  Give me one good reason why every American should not know how to operate a rifle.  One reason.  There isn't one.  And we should all know our history.  Why we're here; why this country changed the world forever.  Where we each fit in.  Yeah.

Another excellent Calverton event.  We made five Riflemen (50%) before hitting a solid KD rhythm that carried us through Sunday afternoon and a bit past our usual wrap.  KD at Calverton sure is fun, either slyly peeking over the crest of a snowy Punkatasset Hill or laying on a pile of shredded tires under the robot mudmonster.  100 meters is a long way on Long Island and we ran late.  By the end it was a market place of borrowing and lending rifles, "do you wanna try this one?", shooters on the mats next to Instructors, rounds flying, sandy muzzle blasts, water jugs exploding, just one more round found in a pocket and sent to glory, then another, and VietVet finally sat down for fifteen minutes.  Did Big Matt ever get to shoot?  All I know for sure is he kept poking his head out from the pit, like, "Can I come out now?"  We're like "NO!!!"  Last month we stuck him in the road and this month, the pit.  I feel kinda bad, but not really.

Heather ran the line like a drill sergeant on Sunday.  Glad to know Mogget can count on at least one lady local in June, but don't worry - we'll have a few more by then.  Maybe Heather will be a Red Hat!  Stevepelle91, not only showed his stripes as a Line Boss and a shooter, but he brought in another IIT from the ranks of the Young Islanders.  BIGROB, welcome aboard.  10lrrp overcame his Appleseed rifle karma (the first step is to admit you have malfunctions), made Rifleman, and took the hat, which he'll need cuz with the 210 he shot, his old hat is soaked (love that dirty water).  WetWayne also got the North Bridge Water Treatment for his Rifleman Score of 210.  We believe he's in the mood for an Orange Hat as well.

Dakota is a Red Hat in everything but name and my biggest fear is that when the rest of you Instructors find out how good he is, I'll never see him again.

Saturday night, Rattlesnake almost killed half the LI Instructor corps by bringing us to a venison fueled fund raiser that hasn't quit to this moment.  I think he's got some kind of hidden agenda.  I must have eaten 14 pounds of deer meat cooked 10 different ways.  Not joking.  As we walked across the street, I was crying on CharlieHotel's shoulder, "this is as far as I make it...  tell the world my story..."  He was like, "ever eat a calzone as big as a couch cushion," and helped me into Rich's truck.

Fastfrank777 nailed the Third Strike like he was there and his mom is ready to Shoot Boss her own event as long as it's not too cold.  Just kidding, MO.

My camera was snaked by zombies, so I don't have any pics, but Bravo Juliet Mike sent me these (it was good to see you, brother).  VietVet is still trying figure out how to turn his son's camera on.

WetWayne (how much is Big Matt enjoying himself here?)

Great pictures Brad.

We could ask Harry to drag that metal monster out of the way, but it would ruin the whole "MadMax" thing going on.

Congrats to the new Riflemen, shooters and Instructors on a well done event.

This was another GREAT Event.
Weather held up for us and it was bright and Sunny all weekend.
It was great seeing so many Shooters make Rifleman. Those NYC Shooters surely proved there's a major source of "Rifleman" just waiting to be introduced to Calverton. I'm sure they'll help us with this.

Calverton as we know is a "Hardcore Range".
Well, at every Event those who attend prove we also have "Hardcore Shooters"!

5 New Rifleman in 1 day.......OUTSTANDING!
Congrats to all involved.

I did manage to get that camera working but photos above seem to have this event covered so I spare myself the effort of trying to figure out how to post mine.

Well done NY!!!!

Another Great Shoot! The "KD Rifle Swap Meet" was awesome! We should set up a center fire line with 20 different rifles and just rotate shooters for a whole afternoon. O0

Congratulations to all the new Riflemen, this just proves that a teachable attitude is the most important thing to bring to an Appleseed.

Thanks to all the instructors for their help, we really do have a dedicated and focused team.

I thought I mentioned it, but I don't see it.  At the end of the day on Sunday - the end of the event - after accounting for all my stuff, I found two ruger mags in my pocket.  PM me if you think they're yours and I'll give you the first clue in your ultimate extreme quest to recover them.  I cannot guarantee that I will not swap your mags for the crap ones that I'm trying to get rid of.  Depends on how good yours are.  Just kidding.  I'm keeping them all.

Aren't you from here anyway!

Indeed, Calverton was the range I grew up shooting on.

Some of you NY guys may recall what that place was like back in the 70's & early 80's......no more waking the old man up in his station wagon to get into the range I'll bet.....but we'll keep that quiet...... ^-^
