Does anyone have experience with German NATA 7.62 x 51 rounds with a nickle coated projectile?  Here's a link to some that I thought about buying,

But I think that I heard that there was problems with this type of bullets.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought some from AIM a few weeks ago. Some internet blogs claim that it's corroded on the outside of the case but mine came in very good condition, the lot number is DAG94K0365. The blogs also claimed it was fairly accurate (I'm sure they mean for surplus) but I have not had the chance to shoot any yet. The worst that can happen is you'll have to polish it up with steel wool or something but at $.41 per round I'd "buy it cheap and stack it deep" as Fred always used to say. Surplus 308 is a great commodity as it will never go down in value.

For reloaders it is worth mentioning that thie above deal from AIM is for Berdan primed brass, not commonly considered to be reloadable here in the U.S.

Have shot Rifleman scores with this ammo.

It's good enough for practice or an Appleseed and you don't have to worry about losing any of the "throw away" berdan-primed brass.

Have bought it from AIM in the past, but recently got some from SGAmmo.com here - http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/200rd-battle-pack-german-308-762x51-fmj-military-surplus-ammo

I have 4000 rounds of DAG inbound from Ammoman.  :)

Some of the earlier DAG that was sold had some corrosion, but the current batch is supposedly shiny.  It all shoots well.

Thanks for all the replies, I think that I'll get try it. O0

I've shot up nearly a 1000 rounds in an M1A Squad Scout--not a single misfire, hangfire or squib.  It's as accurate as any M80 ball I've shot.  Only downside is the Berdan priming, that only matters if  you want to reload it.

My loaded Std. and Scout eat the stuff like candy!! Never had any with tarnish, all bright and clean. Accuracy is totally acceptable. Got more coming from ammoman!!'Mo :---

I've fed this ammo to my M1A and Remington R-25 (Bushmaster AR-10) without a problem and continue to buy a 1,000 at a time when cash flow permits.

These are the results from some testing this weekend.

28 degrees F, no wind. 1000' elevation.
2" to 2.5" groups at 100 yds (2 to 2.5 moa) out of an AR 10 from the prone position.
1.5" to 2" groups at 200 yds (.75 to 1 moa) out of a heavy barreled bolt action off the bench.
Velocity is 2725 fps out of a 24" barrel.

I'm very happy with these results and will recommend to any one this ammo for the price with this single caveat; may be tarnished, even in its sealed battlepacks.

So far the case I received here - http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/1000rd-case-german-308-762x51-fmj-military-surplus-ammo has all been bright and shiny.
