Another D.O.M.

Another indoor Appleseed in upstate NY, this one a one-day event and at full 25m distance.

First and foremost, I would like to thank the members and BOD of the SaraSpa Rod & Gun Club for their continued support of Project Appleseed in the Saratoga/Capital Region of NY.  This range has well over 500 members who graciously allow a portion of their club to be closed to members during our events, three times this year and many, many times in past years.  I believe a Certificate of Appreciation is in order, which I will attend to in due course.

A fantastic indoor range with a full 25m and 11 bays for shooters.  It was a snug fit, but we pulled it off safely and effectively.

Many thanks to SB R1sgx2, who is also a club member and director, for his hours of preparation time spent leading up to the event; to the club's Chief Range Officer  (Scott) for gallons of delicious home made chicken soup for lunch; and to club member Ms. Rosenzweig (someone please help out here - after four shoots I still cannot remember her name) for preparing lunch as she has done, I believe, for every Appleseed event held at this range.

As always, it was a pleasure working with the instructors present, many whom I've worked with in the past and two whom I haven't - Metalgodz and Nightjade, who drove in from Worcester, MA for this event.  A funny thing about that - it turns out that Metalgodz is the son of my H.S. band instructor.  It is a small world...

We had 10 shooters - an even mix of men and women, with eight return Appleseeders and two newbies.

I know someone has pictures - please post them when you can.  And everyone else, please just jump right in here.

This shoot was very nicely represented by stooters. I was very pleased to see so many return shooters bringing new shooters with them, good job.

The shooting went very well, one shooter who attended several Appleseeds in the past who's personal high AQT score was 177, shot a 202 after lunch. I see a patch in the making. O0 O0

When we were shooting the squares, right from the first square, all groups were small to tight. Tells me the return shooters have practiced since the last Appleseed, in seeing a steady increase in AQT scores by all, very pleased. We were able to shoot 4 AQT's for the day, nice.

I know I will be seeing some Rifleman scores in the Spring / Fall with these shooters. All listened and applied the Six Steps / NPOA. Continue on your jouney, dry fire, and I will see you soon on the Appleseed Trail...
