I have 5 to 7 individuals in Tally that are interested. One is an LEO. Anyone nearby I can put them in touch with?

ItsanSKS is our Florida State Coordinator, and he is a font of info Appleseeds and otherwise. About the "closest" instructor we have up yonder is a great IIT3 that we call "Ladyzipper". Either can be reached via PM here on the forum.

I have been off the Forum for some time, due to the press of work and chores, and only recently heard about this thread. Having lived in Tallahassee 25 years, in my experience the most support for shooting can be found at the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and their range at Sopchoppy FL. I recently joined that range as a member; it costs $75 for annual family membership. They have a couple steel plate pistol ranges; a couple 50yd pistol ranges for stand targets and for reaction (swiveling) targets; a 100yd rifle range; a 450yd rifle range; and a sporting clays range. IMHO their ranges, while nice, clean and safe, are somewhat diminished by the presence of continuous tables, some with benchrest seat swivels. I believe the range is not open Sundays -- probably because the 450yd rifle range doubles as sprayfield for the Sopchoppy sewage treatment plant. It also has some limitations because the distribution lines probably were laid atop the bare ground and soil and sod heaped over them, creating swales.  At the 450 line, while lying prone I could see only the square head of a human silhouette target in front of the backstop.  That's a pretty long shot for standing position, but the range has promise.  I have been warmly welcomed there, and always treated courteously. With the SC agreement, I will be happy to open that connection, and need only a few details to make it solid. I'll look for a PM with those details. AdobeWalls

I am working with someone in Tallahassee on getting us the range that AdobeWalls mentioned. I have already forwarded the preliminary paperwork to the range master there and have yet to receive a response. So Adobe, if you got ties, ramp em up, and I will try to PM you with the details of what I have done toward this one.
