Hey Ken,

Thanks for getting this started and for posting the pics.

About those strikes, I know you offered to do the third. Keeps you in practice. Good job by the way.

This was a great group of lady shooters! There were quite a few who had never picked up a rifle before.

More tomorrow.

SS, 22calgal, cowgirlducky,

So how come I keep hearing about these guys that keep showing up at the 'LadySeed' events?

I know......eye candy  **)  ^:)^  ++)    :D   @)  @)  @)   and slave labor  ;D  ..:..

Really though, you couldn't have a better group of instructors there  and asminuteman does bring the knowledge, intensity, and REALISM that I envy (especially the look on the faces when he fires the musket/rifle, on key, during the strikes).

Hope you didn't get the rain they promised us in SoCal for today.

Regards,

CSHR

Nice shoot Ladies^5
Sorry---- I was NOT invited   ;D
Well at least they got to hear a man do some history  ;D ;D ;D
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Sorry I couldn't make it....doing a seed in Santa Barbara.
Looks like a good time!
I bet you had the better weather.
We had ground level fog in and out (mostly in) until 1pm on Saturday.
I have never been so excited to see target backers clearly as I was when the fog cleared!

As for History...I am sure asminuteman did a great story...but I have never heard the strikes better than our ladies all telling them at Glen Helen! ;)

Pippi. You are right!! The best history was those ladies at Glen Helen! Looks like JA has offered to come do all three strikes in Glen Helen! Thanks JA but we must decline. That is so generous an offer though. We will think about it for next time.

Ken, What's wrong with pink? The girl knows what she wants.

On to more about the event.

When I arrived at the range, there was a motorhome with a mother (Stephanie) and daughter (Kelsey) getting up and ready for the days events. Both worked hard all day to improve. More on them later.

On Saturday nine of CA's best ladies came out to enjoy the day learning marksmanship and heritage. We started the day with the usual redcoat to see if we could improve by weekends end. Improve we did! Good job Ladies. I think it was that 20 minutes of ball and adummy.

Marion didn't blink at all. Not bad having never shot a rifle before this. Marions daughter Bonnie witnessed this. Great job! I hope you ladies will be able to return to another Appleseed.

Cindy (a repeat Appleseeder) hit the 400 yard shot on the opening redcoat!! She and her friend Jenny had to pull up rifles early to get home to other evening plans of Jenny's. Thank you both for coming out for as long as you did. It was great seeing Cindy again and good to meet Jenny. Jenny, look for sights here: www.tech-sights.com

Our other three one day ladies had a great time. None of them has ever picked up a rifle before and were excited about the experience. At lunch, one of them, Jane, approached asminutemanand asked to take a shot! How cool is that? After everything was cleaned up and put away, Joey (Cowgirl Ducky) and Helen a lady participant who brought two friends with her, shot my M1A. Both clanged steel out there!! Great job girls!

What can I say about Sunday? Sunday started a bit cold. The sun peeked out for a short time but there was a chill in the air most of the day.
We started with review of fundamentals, then on to the AQT.

Sara came out for Sunday only and managed to go away with a high score of 191. Sara does the prone stages, in the sitting position! Fabulous shooting Sara! I look forward to seeing you again at the next one. Just let me know what works for you.

Final redcoat of the day, every single one of those ladies qualified at at least 100 yards. Including Shannon! Who had never shot a round out of a rifle before after lunch! Great job! 22calgal worked with her. Wonderful job 22calgal!! As if that is not enough, Stephanie cleaned the redcoat!! She said, I didn't get Rifleman (high score 189) but I got the redcoats. Fantastic job Stephanie!! Stephanie and daughter Kelsey have already signed up for that next Ladyseed in Glen Helen.

I'd like to thank all the ladies for coming out. We really enjoyed having you all there. This was a great bunch of ladies. I can't wait until the next one. I am glad it is in three short weeks!

I'd like to thank the range host for allowing Appleseed free reign to hold them whenever we want. Thanks Mike for being so supportive.

Did I mention the t-shirts? Everyone Loved the t-shirts. Thank You GrammaGoats for getting those printed. Thank You Fred for allowing them. Thank You Riflewoman for bringing them to Idaho with you!

See you all on the trail!!

Lioness of Liberty

I would like to start off by saying THANK YOU to the wonderful women who put this event on.

Myself and my daughter Kelsey Girl had an amazing time!  Kelsey Girl is 11 soon to be 12, Saturday night after a great first day, she asked me "Mom how old do you have to be to be an instructor?"  my heart filled with joy. Just one day at Ladyseed made such an impact on her that she has her heart set on being an instructor and getting her riffleman patch.  She couldn't wait to go back to school to wear her shirt and spread the word of Appleseed.

For me it was a weekend of many firsts; camping by myself in our motorhome; shooting without my husband; and sweeping the Redcoats!  But it was more than that, I got to share a weekend with my daughter and amazing women who share the same beliefs, fears, hopes and dreams for our Country.

I too want to make rifleman and instruct with my daughter by my side.

Gitr' Done Ducky Kelsey absolutely adores you!  22CalGal thank you for all of your instructions, suggestions and support and we love the pink!  Savage Shootr words can't say enough thank you!

We can't wait to see everyone at Glen Helen for the Thanksgiving weekend Ladyseed!!!

Another FABULOUS Ladyseed is in the books!  Piru was lovely and a treat to see again.  The shooters were AMAZING and wonderful and eager and willing.  Everyone worked hard, listened and had fun.

I have to admit, it was an extreme honor to work with ASminuteman's daughter Shannon on Sunday.  She was a natural, she listened, she asked questions, she had fun and she did love my pink 10/22!!  I think there is a new rifle-maniac for the Doyle household.  Thank you, Ken, for letting me work with Shannon.  She needs a forum name now...how about the Purple Princess?

Have I told anyone how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a red hat?  Love the Ladyseed shirts, too!

I am looking forward to the next Ladyseed at Glen Helen (West End Gun Club).  The more women who shoot, the better!
