Gopher Boy

I sitting here enjoying one of my last mornings of leisure thinking about the things I have to do today.  Seems being unemployed has added to my honey do list, however today has one extra thing.  Then it hit me.

Today is a remarkable day, for today I get to cast my sacred ballot for the men I think best to govern.  Today my voice matters.  Today the political voice are silent, and let's face most of the time it's just BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, "Hey who moved my cheese" .  Today I am the most powerful and dangerous man in these United States.  I'm a man with the power of the vote.

18 months ago I would have said, "OH, darn...  I have to vote today."  Appleseed was my turning point, my rebirth.

Hmmm....  am I a Born-again American?   Can there be such a thing.

Now that I think about it.

Yes, I am a reborn American.

I'm damn proud to be a reborn American!    And if you have a problem with that...  SO WHAT.  I apologize for NONE of it.  Eat my dust as I continue saving Americans and kiss the stock of my M1 Garand, that I scratch a notch in for every American I save and is reborn.  As of me to quote may other brighter people that I (and a movie or two) "I've got my boots on and my rifle I can walk into battle. (Figuratively speaking of course, because let's face it...  It's a battle to pry some of them off the couch) so let's go my brothers and sisters one more time into the breach and drag one more American to their rebirth Appleseed style. So they too can say...

"I am a REBORN American, for I was baptized in a shower of brass at an Appleseed and show the light my forefather's left for me.  I choose to follow that light."

I have to go and vote now.   &)

Disclaimer...  For those of you that don't know me.  Yes there is some tongue and cheek in here, read it as such.  Appleseed was a cross roads in my life and I made my turn onto the trail, as I'm many of us did.  It means something different to each of us.  Agree with me and feel similarly, hey that's great.  Disagree with me, I will respect you and your opinion the same and I will not throw rocks out you.  Because discussion of our differences with passion, not ANGER and mutual respect is the only way our republic works.  Isn't this Country grand?

It is a beautiful day for our Country!  ..:.. I was greeted this morning with a glorious sunrise and approximately 100 voters waiting to cast their sacred ballot at 0600.  I would like to think that our message is getting out there.  God Bless America! @)

Hooohaaaaaaaaa Gopher Boy!!!!!! [/b]  O0 O0 O0 O0

Great post good sir!

Today is the day to throw the bums out! Hopefully the results will lead to smaller government, lower taxes and policies that result in personal responsibility. Do you think whoever wins will address the illegal immigration problem? So far illegal immigration has been, for either party, too big to fail.

Last week England and Wales announced that the number one name for boys born there in 2009 was Mohammed. We also saw an effort to blow up planes during flight, foiled an attack on the Washington, DC subway and, just a few days ago, saw a Catholic church attacked in Baghdad. Guess the number one name for perpetrators of those acts. Here is a clue: It is not Oliver.

Then we also have to consider getting our denutered ecomony back functioning again and ponder a new presidential candidate.

But foremost we have a new coming year  to grow our ranks and double once again and then again as you so aptly say...." baptizing them in a shower of
brass" (what a cool expression Gopher Boy) renewing them with the truth of our history and reviving the American spirit. Indeed we are in the process of great growth and the horizon of our nations future lays before our eyes.  The vision of an Appleseed President in the White House with our Constitional Republic restored is a nobel goal for one and all.  Our forfathers can but look down upon us and smile and we hear the words..."Well done faithful servants."

Great names for new children born into Appleseed families could include honorable names such as......' Jack', Quincy, Samuel, Hanna,
Issac Davis, John Parker, Samuel, Benjamin and the list goes on contemplating  great names for our posterity as we remember the sacrifice those great
men and women made for this nation all in the name of liberty and freedom. We have to be free at home before we can export freedom around the world and Appleseed plays an important role awakening that musch needed awareness and appreciation for our freedom.
Never have I witnessed a more important election.

I share some edifying thoughts of Thomas Paine:

"Socialism?  ......... "the most prosperous invention the devil ever set on foot for the promotion of idolitry." No man should worship another-
yet all of England prostrates itself before the throne and King George III." And who was King George III ?  A worm who in the midst of his
splendor is crumbling into dust! .... The state of a king shuts him off from the world, yet tthe business of a king requires him to know it thoroughly.
This combination made the king's whole character absurd and useless.... The King hath little more to do than make war and give away places.
In fact, the king was nothing more than a giver of places and pensions."...He was chief among plunderers."

'The powers of governing still remaining in the hands of the king, he will have a negative over the whole legislation of this continent. And as he hath shewn himself such an inveterate enemy to liberty, and discovered such a thirst for arbitrary power; is he, or is he not, a proper man to say to these colonies, "You shall make no laws but what I please." And is there any inhabitant in America so ignorant, as not to know, that according to what is called the present constitution, that this continent can make no laws but what the king gives it leave to; and is there any man so unwise, as not to see, that (considering what has happened) he will suffer no law to be made here, but such as suit his purpose. We may be as effectually enslaved by the want of laws in America, as by submitting to laws made for us in England. After matters are made up (as it is called) can there be any doubt, but the whole power of the crown will be exerted, to keep this continent as low and humble as possible? Instead of going forward we shall go backward, or be perpetually quarrelling or ridiculously petitioning. -- We are already greater than the king wishes us to be, and will he not hereafter endeavour to make us less? To bring the matter to one point. Is the power who is jealous of our prosperity, a proper power to govern us? Whoever says No to this question is an independent, for independency means no more, than, whether we shall make our own laws, or, whether the king, the greatest enemy this continent hath, or can have, shall tell us, "there shall be no laws but such as I like." Paines words could  perhaps be easily describing someone else we know?? :cool2:

'O ye that love mankind! Ye that dare oppose, not only the tyranny, but the tyrant, stand forth! Every spot of the old world is overrun with oppression. Freedom hath been hunted round the globe. Asia, and Africa, have long expelled her. -- Europe regards her like a stranger, and England hath given her warning to depart. O! receive the fugitive, and prepare in time an asylum for mankind."

What a country we have, what a people!! ..:.. ..:.. ..:..

Get out and vote America and restore our freedom. And you 'Gopher Boy' inspire me.

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."  one who has not qualified himself with the M-16 may not be considered to be a responsible citizen."

Wow, nice job CM!  You gave me chills!  I heard a sound byte this morning of Rageanus Maximus that also gave me chills.  I pray that it is going to be a pivotal day for Liberty.  We still have a long way to go and many more sleeping Americans to wake.
