We did it again.  4 IITs and two "auditors" (the good kind) got thrown into the deep end of the Appleseed pool this weekend.  Unfortunately I was expecting about double that, but I guess people got busy.

On Saturday the clubhouse worked quite nicely.  Especially the new giant whiteboard.  In less time than last year's, we added an expanded safety section, a KD section, a huge talking targets exercise, and a line of interesting rifles of dubious safety status (thanks Dwarven1 O0

Sunday was the best.  To last year's tour, I added:
A stop in Concord center to explain what the grenadiers were wasting their time with.
A much improved walk down to the North bridge from the training hill while telling the story of Captain Davis.
A walk from Hartwell Tavern to the Bloody Angle with the lights on.
A stop at Fiske Hill to finish out Battle Road and get a benediction out of everyone present.

I think we coaxed out the fire breathing story teller out of some of the IITs (heck... some of the red hats too) and the deep thinking philosophical precision sledgehammer out of the rest.  Both styles are great.

Though I get better at running these I'm still looking for a way to get the info to them without talking so much.  At times I felt like a wall of blah blah blah.  I was also a little disappointed by the amount of kvetching from the shooters on the mock appleseed line.

Thanks to Firewall, Ninsho, Doesitcomeinblack, Smithy, and Dwarven1 for all the help! :)

The Log

Sounds like a good time, Crak. Sorry I missed it - had every intention of tagging along, but I forgot about the vendor show vernic82 arranged that I agreed to help out with. Time well spent, I believe - we talked to a lot of people, collected a bunch of email addresses and in general made a favorable impression, at least I think so. I suspect we'll see attendance at the CT events starting to swell, which means I'll need an IBC soon, so keep 'em coming.

I wouldn't say you did too much talking by any stretch.  And it was nice to have some practice being put on the spot. ;)
