Its Fathers Day, I think

As I stated in the title, I think its father day.  I know we as men are not as important as the mom's.

But, WE ARE THE LIONS OF THE PRIDE.  We go to work every day and slay dragons.  We bring home the money.  We put up with all the B.S. the whole world seems to offer.  We are the men.

O.K. last time I saw TV, at least in the adds, fathers were made out to be less than Homer Simpson.  We are not stupid, we are not weak, we are not idiots.  We are the man in the family.

We are the men our daughters look up to.  And hope they will find a man like their dad to marry.  We are the men, that our sons look up to, and think I only hope I can be as good as my Dad.

Yes, its Fathers day, and all I want is someone to say, good job.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value."   T Paine

I agree with what you say, Fathers Day is not until next weekend. ;)

I would give everything I own to hear my father say that to me again. People, if you love your dad, go tell him so. You never know when it might be the last chance you get.  :'(

G-d, I hate this time of year.
Unhappy it is ... to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast, and that the once happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?

Amen Brother! It's not just the adds, watch any sitcom and you'll see the same thing.
My parents split up when I was a kid and my Uncle was my substitute Dad.  I pray I can be at least 1/2 the man he was. I  guess being an Appleseeder could be considered partway there. I wish I could have told him while he was still alive what a good job he did of raising me.  :'(
