Eight nonpaying shooters signed up for the Boulder shoot.
By 9:15 none had arrived at the range.
Four instructors with nothing to do. Another applessed shoot in Billings was short handed and just 250 miles away.
We packed up our stuff and hit the road.

    Sigh.

Was there any sign - even a rumor - Elton John was in town?

If not, I'd suggest you start a rumor he'll be at the next Boulder AS - he has real pulling power in MT - unlike patriotism and the American heritage. :'(

Fred, don't get discouraged.  here's the rest of the story.

we would have had 4 shooters on Saturday -- they just arrived late, (around 10:00).  well, there was a cowboy action shoot going on and the cowboy shooters explained how we were there, but left to go to Billings and the cowboys allowed the family to participate in their shoot -- so there were no hard feelings from the family about us not being there.

   Thanks for the encouragement, bru.

I still say, "spread the word about Elton being there", and we'll get a big turnout next time. ^-^

Ummmm, Fred...I would venture to presume the vast majority of Montanans are not fans of Elton. Now, JUUUUST about any Country western musician or such may get you a turn out
