This is a post by a new member and Appleseed family attendees "Snyder Lake" moved the from the NY board................

Quote
"Hi everyone!  I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the excellent instruction and history lessons provided to my family (Pat, Michelle & Sean).  We had a great time, met some really great people, and learned a lot.

You'll notice that my screen name is Snyders Lake which is the name of the lake that we live on.  It is said that the history of Snyder's Lake dates back to Revolutionary times, when a man named Harmon Snyder traveled up the Hudson River by sail boat from Dutchess County. He settled on a farm near what was then known as "Aries Lake" in the town of Greenbush. What is known is that Aries Lake was renamed to Snyder's Lake in 1897 after Harmon Snyder and his family. This is documented by the historical marker located at the North Greenbush Town Beach.  Please take a look at our LAKE Association website for more info.  http://www.snyderslake.org/

The Revolutionary War and the people associated with it were an amazing group of people that left a legacy that cannot have even been imagined and we are so lucky to have.  The idea of never forgetting that gift that we have been given is a fantastic idea that my family fully supports.  Hopefully we can get more people to remember the sacrifices made and engage themselves in keeping their legacy alive forever.  To that end, I have agreed to be and have recently (last week) been appointed to the Town of North Greenbush Ethics Board, to do what I can to assist in helping to keep out local politicians remembering that they need to be doing the work of the people.

Thank you so much for everything!  We look forward to attending more Appleseeds in the future!"

Pat, Michelle, Sean,
It was a joy having all of you there for the first Hudson Falls, Fish and Game Club event, Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn was very much appreciated, I am glad that you enjoyed your Appleseed experience.  You are Welcome Anytime.    Best regards,  sgtrock

Another D.O.M.

Sorry it's taken me so long to chime in here.  I woke up this morning, attended my retinal Dr. appt., came home, and thought: "I hate that damned computer!".  And then reality cuffed me upside the ear and reminded me that 'that damned computer' is how I make my living, providing me the means by which I can do Appleseed.

Eventually I sat down and began catching up on what's happened while I was at the Hudson Falls shoot.

That is fantastic!  My hat is off to you, for you have taken a step that most would never consider taking.  In fact, you have taken a step that I myself have considered on several occasions, but have never been able to will myself to pursue.  I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for stepping up to help preserve the principals that this great nation was founded upon!  You will do well by The People.

As always, a phenomenal Appleseed.  As always, I learned a great deal.  And as always, I met some of the finest Americans alive today.

As the first ever New York indoor 50' Appleseed there were challenges to be overcome and lessons to be learned.  All in all, I believe we did well.  However, Michelle's comment on Sunday evening regarding how she felt we could improve our program says a good deal: "Shoot more AQTs!".  (As I write this I have absolutely no doubt that Michelle is dry-firing in the living room, practicing her six steps and NPOA shifts.)

I cannot wait for B9 to post up some pictures!  There were many historical moments captured during this shoot.  Among others, the line consisted entirely of family units - grandmother, grandfather, grandson; father and son; grandfather, father, son, mother, father, son; husband/IIT, wife.  And of course upstate NY instructor crew, Burlington Flats crew, Ashley.  Yup, we're all family now (I'm just bummed that you got to shoot and I didn't, you lucky devil you).

Once again Spanner played Super Man, driving 14 hrs. from W. Va., instructing, spinning yarns, telling tales, and in general teaching us all what dedication to this program he has.  Thank you Lyn!  I look forward to every shoot with you.  BTW, Spanner, if you were looking for some snow, you missed it by two days - 4 to 6 inches by morning on Wednesday ('tho I have no doubt you've seen your limit of snow for this season).

I'd love to go on, but I've been asked by the SB to complete some homework.

OK, I've also been informed by the HB that it's time to get off this computer and go to bed...

Thank you to all participants, trainees and trainers alike, for another memorable Appleseed weekend!

I hope others got some pictures as most of mine did not come out. We are missing one of the most important pictures of the weekend. Who has it?

nyrasgt Saturday prelim.

R1sgx2 explaining sight alignment.

We were lucky to have Kenyon attend in period clothing and with his fowler.

Xena calling the line. I called Ashley Becky once. It was an error but anyone that has worked with Becky "The Blonde" knows it was a compliment.

The late Sunday group. They stuck with it all weekend, all shot VERY well.

If memory serves me well that would be a shot of sgtrock.  But there were two of historical significance - to which do you refer?

This was an outstanding event and I am proud to say that I was able to participate and hopefully pass on some knowledge.  I believe that I may have that picture of SgtRock, I will go though my camera when I get a chance and get that up here for all to see.

I must say that I was impressed with the shooters and their level of dedication.  It is great to see the improvement in their scores and more importantly their grasp of the fundamentals.

Special thanks to Kenyon for bringing the fowler, I happened to get a chance to hold it and it was much lighter than I expected it to be, but still a lovely weapon .... Might have to get one for our collection ...hint hint to Adam  :D

I have to agree with everyone here, the dedication of the shooters was impressive, Michelle, Pat, Sean, you did a great job, and I hope to see you at Appleseed's in the future!!
