We'd all love to hear how you found Appleseed and what you thought....    O0

After reading the posts about it on OFCC's website it sounded good, and I had always wanted to learn how to really shoot a rifle. I spent some time on the forum for a while reading all I could and googling the program to see what it was really about. All I could find was good and was determined to get to a shoot. After spending time with Slim and Fireman Bill at the Tea Party I knew I needed to get to a shoot.

I approached it in the same way.  I remember thinking at the end of the event, though, that I felt rather self-indulgent for pursuing the instruction for my benefit when it is clear is far more.  What I left with was far more than I could have expected.

LOL

Well let's see  ;D After reading up on Appleseed I went about learning all I could from the website and started to put it to use on the living room floor. The wife thought I was nuts. It payed off in Athens on April 19th though. A couple of months of dryfire practice at home along with a little live fire to confirm it resulted in a Rifleman's score on my first AQT ever. Of course the nickname was given to me the day before by non other than The Guy. As he was walking the line at Athens and doing target analysis he came to mine and asked whose it was. I raised my hand and sheepishly said mine. He asked if I had been to and AS before and I said I had not, then he asked if I shoot NRA Highpower and I didn't. So he says "What Gives" I said that I had spent the last couple of months dryfiring at home. At that point I was renamed from Gimp to DryFire. O0

I thought there could be nothing better than garnering an appreciation for our history, a weekend of comradery, and making lots of holes in paper....

I shot in a local Service match just to be able to order a garand from CMP. Ihad so much fun I couldn't wait for the next Match. Then I saw one of Fred's articles in Shotgun News. I went to the first Appleseed to
learn how to shot better, They helped alot and I shot Rifleman at the next Appleseed. The instruction was awesome.

My first AS was April 19 2009 in Athens...not as a shooter ...as the nurse. Wanted to support GeorgeT in his endeavor to get AS started at our club. Had no interest in participating as a shooter. Watched Dry Fire and wife and Starbuck shoot, got more interested... Well less than one year, 5 AS as a shooter, and a RBC in Osage Beach, Mo later here I am with a Rifleman patch, an orange hat, and a brother/sisterhood that I am extremely proud to be a part.

I heard about it from Meanstreaker, and thought it sounded fun. My husband took two kids to Minerva, and I was jealous they went first.

I got to go to Gibsonburg, and it was as great as I thought it was going to be. I can't wait for the next!

The DOF (Dangerous Old Family, aka Richardsons) invited my dad, 2 of my brothers, and me to a shoot in May of 2009.  We had planned and ATVing trip to KY for that weekend, but they canceled to go to their second AS shoot and invited us to come along.  That first AS, man, I stunk really bad!  I went home and shot, improved, and at my second shoot, shot Rifleman.  I have NEVER looked back on it other that to see the trail that has brought me to where I am now.
