I want to invite all my Pennsylvania "kin" (I was born, raised and educated in PA) to come help me get my brand new DAR here in Western NY between Buffalo and Rochester just 15 minutes off the NYS Thruway (Rt. 90) off to a great start.

We already have some folks staying in the pole barn (not much of a barn really) this coming weekend.  Room for plenty more.  The heat is provided by Another D.O.M. with a new high efficiency propane heater.  The tanks will be outside for additional camper safety.  You'll want a cot or good ground pad as the floor is concrete (very new and clean though).  Please be my guest and come for the weekend as my guest if that helps bring some more folks here on the forum to come that extra distance if they can camp for free.  At least I hope that's the effect. :)

Everyone is welcome to arrive anytime Friday 10/30 - facilities will be open for Appleseeders and Instructors as soon as it gets light out.  The outhouse is brand new and I will have running water and a utility sink to wash dishes hands etc.  I will also help and bring buckets of hot water when needed as well.  Down the road I hope for a propane portable water heater so we'll have hot water too at the sink.

How about all you folks within a reasonable drive of Buffalo/Rochester, NY -

Northern PA - The Southern Teir Expressway running the entire length of southern NY will bring you in to Rt. 390N.  My farm is about a 1.5 hour drive without speeding from the 17/390 interchange.  If you're in NW PA, (come on Slippery Rock Appleseeders - come help me open the new NY DAR) you can come up through Rt. 79 and then catch the NYS Thruway (Rt.90) and come east to the Batavia exit, then 15 more minutes north on Rt. 98 and you're there.  It takes me about 2 hours to get to the PA border on 390/17/15.  Three hours from Mansfield, PA to the farm on 15/17/390.  State College, PA (PENN STATE!!!) is about a 4.0 hour drive.
