20 great folks signed up to come out and hear the stories of April 19th and enjoy a weekend of shooting. What a great time we had. Yes it was a little hot at 99 Degrees, with the heat index, on Sat and 103 on Sunday but these folks stuck it out.  Our youngest shooter was Luke at age 9 and our oldest was Jessie at 83. Both were an inspiration to all of us.

Saturday morning started out with a red coat and lots of work to do. We started with the fundamentals of prone shooting. Everything from how do we use this funny strap thing ( a sling), to Steady Hold Factors and NPOA.  By lunch time all shooters were putting groups on paper.

The range has a hard stop on shooting at 5PM and we went right up to it. The heat made us slow down quite a bit but we touched on everything and the shooting improvements showed.

Just when you thought it could not get any hotter Sunday proved it could We Broke 100 degrees before lunch and hit a high of 103. The shooters kept going and the progress continued.  By the end of the weekend we only had two people turn in a Rifleman score but they were impressive scores.  Dave Sr with a 216,217 and a 221 and Dave Jr with three distinguished scores of 240,246 and 247.

Too many great scores to post them all but all made improvement. One of the best paydays for the instructors was said while we were all saying goodbye. One of the mothers of the kids on the line said we made shooting fun again and they would all be back.

We look forward to seeing you all again.

So great to see all these wonderful people!!  We even managed to avoid the storms that were all around us on both days.  The forefathers were smiling down on us this weekend for sure!  Justine would not quit!  Man!  What an inspiration.  Luke, 9 years old, achieved his goal of hitting at least a 100.  Kid, you made us all proud!  Jessex2 these guys!  Wow!  Father and son, I swear this is what it's all about!  Generations of Americans learning their history and having a blast.  Jesse Jr had us all laughing!  At 83!  In the heat.  John, my Aussie brother, your patch is coming!  I promise.  The heat was a factor my friend.  Dave and David?!  I can't say enough good about both of you.  I tease a lot about taking a hat, but "2 Fitty ". It's coming.   ^:)^  Charlie I will get to see again at the Liberty Seed in October and we will share more stories, the rest of you I just can't say enough!  Alicia I look forward to seeing your family again, and meeting your little guy.  Chantal you and your kids kept us on our toes in the best possible way.  I loved it!  Jeff & Will, we will see YOU at the next one!  Remember, the beatings will continue until the marksmanship improves!!!  Arrrggghhh!!!!
What doesn't kill you makes cool scars, and scars are tattoos with better stories.

There is simply no finer Folks then the volunteer instructors in Appleseed!

SeaSniper & PirateGirl, we cant thank you enough for your hospitality and enthusiasm in putting on this Leesburg event. I suspect there is a good chance we could return in September. David Jr. is determined to make 250 next go around.

ScubaSteve, your dedication to this program and tireless efforts to keep events running smooth is deeply appreciated!

Not having fully retained everyone's forum names, also many thanks to Paul, Wendy, Tom, and Rick.

I think the newer format of covering sling usage and steady hold factors in more detail on the first half of Saturday is extremely useful and great review even for those of us veterans!

This weekend was a great event!

See you all again soon,

Dave
