A good source for American Revolutionary history is the American Revolution Institute.  Tonight (September 14) a virtual presentation on religion in American during the Revolutionary War era is available.  On October 22, a presentation on the beginning of the war (including the events of April 19, 1775) will be presented.  Information is available at:

My father didn't serve in WWII.  It wasn't for lack of trying.  He attempted to enlist 3 separate times.  The last time the doctor said he was too short.  He responded that he signed up again because he said he saw a poster that was recruiting short men to be pilots.  The doctor said, "Short, yes.  But this is ridiculous."  In my book, he's still a hero.

Sorry I missed that presentation on Religion.
Had it not been for the Presbyterian Ministers (Congregational), there would not have been a revolution.  One can read the many accounts and quotations of the British and see that was the underlying cause for liberty and self-government.
