1775- Continental Congress organizes a Continental Army with 10 companies of Excellent Marksmen  (one of Virginia's two allocations is raised by Captain Daniel Morgan and their skill was demonstrated in towns along the march to Boston with demonstrations out to 250 yards)


1777 - the First US flag authorized with 13 red and white stripes and stars in a new constellation in a canton of blue
