On this hot and muggy weekend with on and off showers, we had nine shooters on the range at Piqua Fish & Game.
We started with a pre history and then went into the safety rules.
We had our first Hits Count target with 9 shooters. 6 hit all three in the 100, 5 in the 200, 5 in the 300, 3 in the 400, 4 in the shingle with Andy and Brennan clearing the target!
We then learned the steady hold factors, sling use, six steps of firing the shot, and natural point of aim.
Spread out through the day, we hear the three strikes from Skald. We worked out way up to an AQT with Nathan requalifying with a 228.
We ended the day with a Hits Counts target with out of 9 shooters, 8 hit all three in the 100, 8 in the 200, 4 in the 300, 4 in the 400, 6 in the shingle with Emmett and Judah clearing the target!
Sunday, we started out with a review of the safety rules, then shot a Hits Count target with 9 shooters. 8 hit all three in the 100, 8 in the 200, 4 in the 300, 2 in the 400, 6 in the shingle with Judah clearing the target!
We then moved in to carding the sights and ball and dummy drills. During lunch we heard about the dangerous old men and known distance shooting.
During our Sunday AQTs, Nathan continued to get Rifleman scores with 210, 214, 217, and a 216. Judah scored his first Rifleman with a 218, and followed that with a 210 and 214. Andy requalified with a 222 followed by a 211 and 223. Emmett scored his first Rifleman with a 215 followed by a 216 and 210.
We had several others that we getting close and I encourage them to keep working on it with dry firing and more appleseeds. A rifleman persists.
We finished our last AQT with a downpour, but thankfully Buzzard had brought canopies to keep everyone dry except Emmett.
We finished with a Hits Count target with 6 shooters. 5 hit all three in the 100, 3 in the 200, 4 in the 300, 0 in the 400, 2 in the shingle with no-one clearing the target. The heat was definitely getting to all of us.
I want to thank Piqua Fish & Game for having us at their range. Thank you to all of the shooters. Every one of you was a pleasure to have there. I also want to thank all of the instructors.
Pictures will be posted soon. If you have any pictures, feel free to post them.

Thank you,
Doc Willi

Congratulations to "The Three Amigos"!
Our fireline team that won the fun shoot!
They did a fantastic job doing as much damage as possible to the ropes holding the prisoners! Great job gentleman!
