From the Jan/Feb 2025 edition of New Hampshire Magazine, and David Hackett Fischer is quoted at the end.  The article contains more details leading up to Revere's 60 mile ride to Portsmouth on Dec 13, 1774, and the stealing of the powder from Ft. William & Mary.

Does the almost-forgotten raid matter today? According to Paul Revere biographer David Hackett Fischer, "These were truly the first blows of the American Revolution."
