I am sad to share that one of our Idaho instructors has suffered a family tragedy. On September 18, John ("Wagon") and Eppie Lew's 19-year-old son Jonathan lost his life in a motorcycle accident.

The Lew family has announced a memorial service in Spokane, WA on Saturday, Oct 12th. We will also dedicate our 12-13 October Appleseed Event to Jonathan's memory.

The family has requested that any donations in memoriam be directed here: Heroes Homestead in Memory of Jonathan Lew

Please join the Idaho instructor cadre in offering your thoughts and prayers for the family at this very sad and difficult time.

"The great object is that every man be armed." - Patrick Henry

"The great body of our citizens shoot less as time goes on.  We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world...The first step - in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come - is to teach men to shoot!"       - President Theodore Roosevelt's last message to Congress
