What a great weekend we had last weekend.  With 4 adults and 5 young girls coming out to learn about marksmanship and history.
The instructors had a plan but we soon realized it needed changing. All of our shooters were new to shooting and many had bought new rifles just for this event. We started with fitting those rifles up to the kids and adults and working on all the fundamentals.  Day one we decided to stick with the prone position and keep on the rifle rests for most of the young shooters.   

By the time we got to our afternoon red coats the extra work was paying off with one of our youngest shooters clearing the red coat.  Outstanding work!!!

Day two started with a talk with all our shooters. What did they want to do? As we did no position shooting other than Prone on day one what did they want to do on day two. All our young girls wanted to be challenged so we tossed away those rifle rests and went to work.  These folks worked hard all day long and it paid off. Only two shooters were not able to break 100 on the AQT and JoAnn turned in a high score of 176 on the PQT at the end of the day.  4 People hit the shingle shot on our red coat and 2 people cleared the red coat at the end of the day on Sunday.

Outstanding work by all.   Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again at another event.
