Thanks to Beaver Valley Rifle & Pistol Club for donating their Rifle range for this event.  The weather was hot and humid, which made our trips up and down the 200 yard range a little more fatiguing.  But our intrepid Riflemen persisted!

Charles McKinley started us off with the Safety Brief and a lesson on KD shooting, Rimfire-style.  Then we began gathering dope on the rifles at 50, 100, 150 and 200 yards.  By the time this was completed, everyone was ready for some lunch in the shade.  Chuck took the students through the range estimation exercise after lunch.  Then we started on the AQTs.

By the end of our day all of the students had learned much about their rifles and .22 rimfire ballistics, but only Charles McKinley (45/50) and goosetherumfoodle (42/50) had qualified for their Rimfire tabs.  Hopefully the club will allow us to do this again next year!    :snipersmi

Bone stock 10/22, Blackhawk Axiom stock, EGW 20 MOA rail, medium rings, Center Point 3-12 MOA reticle scope, 40 grain Blazer bulk ammo.

The 5 misses were me rushing stage 2 and 3.  No need for a fancy set up or ammo. It holds 2 MOA all day slung up prone.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

Excellent shooting Charles and Goose!  I am always in awe and appreciative of shooters who git er dun without VERY expensive, fancy or exotic equipment, and I think it goes well with the nature of Appleseed, that is, being able to shoot well with a rifle out of the box.  Shows that the shooter, not the rifle, is where the emphasis should be when we are striving to emulate our forefathers and be of the character, perserverance, and  expertise they were.  Thank you, Charles, for pointing that out!
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them,  and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
