NRA Smallbore - Invite

Hey all!  I regularly shoot an unofficial NRA smallbore match the first Saturday of every month at Tacoma Sportsman's Club.  The ranked matches are on the second Sunday of each month.

It's inexpensive ($5!) and totally informal.  You can shoot in the sanctioned standing offhand position if you want your score to count but there are plenty of folks who shoot off the bench or other modifications.  It would be a good way to work the standing position, slung up or not.

Anyhow, I wanted to extend the invite to anyone local to come down, hang out and shoot for a few hours.  Show up around 8:30-8:45, get some dope from 9:00 until 9:15 or so.  Shooting will start in earnest no later than 9:30.  Two heats back to back (you can shoot both if you like, for another $5) and the whole thing wraps up at or around noon.

I always wear an AS shirt so, if you come by, say hi!

Tomorrow is right here, but it is the last day of this month, so in eight days I should schedule this. Thank you!
... to catch the fire in another American for sharing the skills and our heritage to our posterity. Maybe my perfect shots will be made by those I met along the trials and trails of Appleseed. I know that America is a nation of Riflemen.

Nice, look forward to seeing you, Earl!

For anyone unfamiliar with the location:  Turn into Tacoma Sportsman's Club, follow the road to the main clubhouse, take the gravel road to the right immediately after the archery station.  After the left-hand, downward corner, bear left into Piehl Range.  There will be signs.

Here's an overhead view:

Just a reminder, this (non-Appleseed) event is tomorrow.  All are welcome!

Earl

Thanks for inviting me, Fixer, it was great and am looking into joining that organization. For sure I will be back to shoot and talk.

We were talking during the courses of fire and the shooter next to me, liking the look of my old Stevens target rifle, heard us say Appleseed, and then wanted to know what that was about. Quick brief by Fixer, a couple of trifolds (old ones) from Earl and he knew more than he did before.

I found out that I really need to tighten up my DOPE for small bore at ranges, but that is mostly shooting more with same rifle, so I will be back to work on my theory, might actually bring optics at least a spotting scope (yes, it was in the Caravan, but I hadn't thought it important).

Still, good time with good people and safe shooting, Again!
