Cooper

Both of my children spent Christmas day with me for the first time in almost two decades.   ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^

My daughter is dating a gentleman with an interest in firearms, and she asked me to introduce her to shooting.
After a few milliseconds of hesitation,   O0 we launched into a one shooter Appleseed today.

I hope there are plenty of Appleseed events for 2011 in the Vancouver/Portland region for my daughter and her beau to be introduced to the Trail.  Today's accelerated Winterseed confirms that she is very eager to learn, having never fired a gun before today.

Figured you folks would appreciate her first Redcoat, with the first 13 rounds she has ever put downrange (in the blowing snow at 25 degrees):
"This Appleseed thing doesn't look like it would be for everyone, but it really is." Zac, age 7  كافر
"He who dares not offend cannot be honest." ~ Thomas Paine    "Cooper, you're an a**hole!" - recent Shoot Boss's compliment
"I don't know where "brave" leaves off and "foolish" picks up, but you've certainly got your share of courage." - FuzzyMath
"For the Rifle!, the Rifle!, in our hands will prove no trifle!" ~from the lyrics of "The Bennington Riflemen"
Understand the urgency of our mission; no amount of bailing can raise a sunken ship.
I don't want to be forced back into the darkness.

Congratulations to mom and daughter. As the old saying goes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Belated Merry Christmas Cooper.

Taylor and Dicey
Honoring the memory of Adonijah Taylor (1730-1810) my Grandfather seven generations back, Deerfield MA Militiaman and Patriot, who answered the alarm on April 19, 1775 and along with his six sons served in the War of the Revolution.

-Albert Einstein

"Let Freedom never perish in your hands."

AFTERMATH

Sounds like the best Christmas present of all!
"We intend to produce men who are able to light a fire for Liberty in men's minds, and make them the finest rifle marksmanship Instructors on the planet." - Son of Martha

"Tyrants rise and fall, but tyranny lasts forever." -Me

A 300 yard shooter on her first target. Fantastic!

Now I could make comments about name legacies and all of that and if her name were Lindy, I would need to.

But congratulations. That is a target to be proud of!

"There's a great deal of talk about loyalty from the bottom to the top. Loyalty from the top down is even more necessary and is much less prevalent. One of the most frequently noted characteristics of great men who have remained great is loyalty to their subordinates."

No her name isn't Lindy, but she was born a Cooper and as Taylor noted, she didn't fall far from the tree.  She is justly proud of that Redcoat.
