Greetings.
I'm taking at least my son and one buddy new to the Appleseed experience to the Lima shoot.  Several others have already started with the excuses so I'm not counting them but we will see.  Its going to be nice to have one close to home.  I checked out the Sabers website and it looks like these folks have their stuff together.  We are looking forward to it.  Who all is planning on being there?

Some of you might be interested to know there is a SKYLINE CHILI in the area.  This stuff is so good you dont know whether to eat it our rub it all over you and we will definately be hitting it that weekend if anyone else is interested.

I will be shooting my 10-22/lbt but am also taking something a little bigger with some sweet new glass on it to shoot an AQT or two.  Is there any word on if we will be able to put that 300 yd range to use?

Skyline hu? Well I know where the Saturday Instructor AAR dinner is gonna be  O0 Josh I am signed up to shoot boss the Lima event this Oct. Keep at it with the friends, you mention it enough times  ~~:) and they might come around. Don't forget to mention to them the CMP affiliation and that participation in an AS meets the criteria for an M1Garand from the CMP. There is nothing wrong with a M1 for $500, and with the north store near Sandusky you can go pick it out in person.

Not sure yet on the usage of the 300yd range, at this time I would make the assumption that we are gonna stay at 25M for the duration. Just consider time on the 300 a bonus if we get there. Looking foward to seeing you and your crew in less than a month.  :---

There is a whole line of fast food and sit down joints on 309 just a few minutes from the range...  There a Super WalMart on the same strip as well...

Unless there has been some additional coordination with the club we will not be using the 300 yard range...  The way the club has the extension of that specific range designed it required shutting down a section of the clubs property to use the 300 meter firing line.  Still, the set up we used last time was great and afforded the most efficient use of the range facilities offered for the weekend.... At least that's how I saw it...

We will be arriving Friday evening to help set up and hold down the Fort till Dryfire arrives...  Are you planning on camping for the weekend?

The Lima Sabres Shooting Association has put together an incredible range and has some very supportive members!!!  We really appreciate them inviting us to their facility..!!!  Here is the AAR (With Photos..) from our last shoot there....    http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=16034.0

I look forward to meeting you in a few weeks...

We wont be camping as its only about 30 min. to get home and sleep in my soft, warm bed.  If I wasnt working Friday night I'd come up and help you get set up though.  Its gonna be nice to have a shoot close to home.  It also makes it easier to drag guys up there.  Is there any word if Dinky is gonna be there?

For some reason I cant post this in one of the other boards so Ill try here.  In checking my gear for the upcoming shoot I'm having some issues with my tech site.  It seems dovetail in the site is too small for the slot at the front fo the barrel.  When I try to set screw the site down it raises it up and is not held in well by the dove tail.  I am thinking of jb welding that sucker into the slot so it cant go anywhere.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.  My phone number is also on the comm tree if that makes it easier.

Swing by a parts store and pick up a set of shims, the kind used for checking spark plug gaps (you may find finer ones at Sears).  Get the thinnest set you can.

Hold the rifle firmly, and pull up firmly on the sight.  Have another person try and insert the thickest shim they can into the gap at the base of the dovetail.

Trim a section of this into a small square that will sit in the base of the dovetail, and insert it and the sight at the same time.

Apply blue locktite to the screw, and install to the specified torque from the manufacturer.
