First of all, we would like to thank the Chabot Gun Club for welcoming us at our sophomore event at their range.

We had 27 shooters, aging in range from 9 to Dangerous Old Man.  The shooting experience levels of our shooters was from brand new shooter, to very experienced.

With Shoot-Boss-In-Training RyanTSG leading us, we all heard the very important safety briefing and an introduction to the heritage message of Appleseed.  Soon, we were starting out on Redcoat targets and moving on to our marksmanship instruction.  The Three Strikes were told with feeling, and our cherished heritage was celebrated and renewed.  The shooters progressed throughout the day, and we saw significant improvement in shooting with nearly every shooter.

Sunday brought rain and 13 returning shooters.  Our first redcoat showed that we could have high expectations of those with the persistence to return.  We were not disappointed when our first AQT produced two Riflemen, and more than a few with scores over 200.

Our Sunday lunch hour was used to pass on the stories of Dangerous Old Men and Determined Dames in a classroom provided by the range, and our heritage was reinforced again.

The other instructors and I will long remember the persistence of one shooter in particular.  David, it was my honor to have you on our line.

Our youngest shooter, Seth, aged 9, also showed persistence.  He was on the line through bad weather and a rigorous course of instruction for two full days.  No whining, no crying, no wanting to go home when it got cold and the rain poured down.  Well done, young man!
