Great lookin' shoot there everyone!
We were out in the snow yesterday as well, had a mini down in Indiana, five new shooters and  two returning Riflemen making sure everything works in the cold.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

Looks like you Wisconsin folks did alright. ;)
Wish I'd have been there as well, but alas it wasn't to be.
Looks like people got the right idea....  Centerfires to keep the hands warm. :---

Congratulations Bedford!  Those Orange hats never last forever.

Stay cool Wisconsin! :cool2:

We shall see you all on the Trail!

Receiving a red hat is an awesome experience, and has been one of the most meaningful milestones of my life.  I am very grateful to Coly, The Guy, and the WI Instructor / IIT team for inspiring and equipping me to serve.

Since the number of students was small, it was nice to get some shooting time in, to watch other instructors shoot, and learn from each other.

We will be trying hard to get the line filled at the next Nicolet shoot!

I think D-fly's glasses made him look like a REAL D-fly!

Bedford

Deacon

Two big CONGRATS!

One for BEDFORD on the Redhat,  I know you will be an inspirational instructor for Appleseed......

and for AHHSHOOT for shooting a 228 with his M1Garand!  Thanks Ahhshoot for raising the bar sooo high.  I mean really, don't you think 214, or 218, or even 220....would be ok?  No, you shoot a 228!  Great job! O0

Heaters?  we dont need no stinkin' heaters!  It was a great shoot!

colycat

So what do you do at Appleseed when no students show up?  Well, you shoot of corse and eat last nights left over pizza. ..:..  Nice job Ahhshoot, as to the rest of us, we need just a little work on those big guns~~:)

Thanks to our newest IIT, MikeS, for calling the line on Sunday.

What a great February weekend for a shoot. Temps in the upper 20's, slight breeze and skies from overcast to sunny. The only thing missing was a lot of shooters. Those that came had a great time and a lot of great instruction.

Thanks to the pointers from JoeZ at the Sept Suamico shoot, I was able to score rifleman three more times on Sat. Now I am a proud owner of an orange hat. Time to help spread the knowledge.

It was a pleasure seeing and working with all of you. I am sure we will meet again.

SavageShootr

CONGRATULATIONS Bedford!!!  O0

AhhShoot, ahh, you can shoot!!  I remember you ringing steel with my M1A before you were a Rifleman.  What was that?? 500 yards?  ^:)^ Well anyway. way to go.

MikeS Congratulations on the RM score and a big Thanks for taking the orange hat. Welcome to the ranks of Instructors. You will do well with that WI crew.

OOOOOOOGGGGGGGG Thanks for the great pics. As I sit here in the house, looking at the outdoor thermometer, with it's reading of 84.3 degrees. Looking at the pictures of the snow, kind of help cool it down a bit.

WI is on a roll. Keep up the good work there. Next thing you know there will be a WISCONSIN rocker.   ..:..

Wow... More congrats here than when I first did it waaay back in ot8. Seems like we shouldn't be so exited about a grizzled old instructor shooting Rifleman.... Just sayin.
Im more impressed with a 10 year old flawlessly doing transitions with an AR. O0

Anyway, Take that Elmer. :---

Wow !!!!!! great shoot . Gen Washington + the men at Valley Forge were smiling at the AS held in 3% weather  .  They recognised what you men  + women  are all about  .The same sprit + love of liberty   ;) ;)     Congratualtions Bedford ^5 on your RedHat
Jeff nice hat too.  8)
Nice shooting AhShoot O0 + your correct about Elmer Kieth's observation. He Said in 1925 "There must have been considerable politics attached to that M1Garand rifle.....I asked the Montana team to let me test theirs, which I did ...I didnt find any that would stay in the black for 10 shots at 600 yards with perfect holding......BTW the book is titled "Hell I was There"  + is a really fun read .

This shoot was low on shooters so I decided to be a shooter and test all sorts of equipment with two of my sons against the weather. Two AR 15's ran all day with no problems. The zero on the Marlin 795 started to slide slightly, and I don't know if it was scope related or getting dirty yet.

Of all 6 shooters I think my Fred was the only one who did not score rifleman before this shoot. Good news too is that all of us previous riflemen were able too repeat with no problem. This tells us that it's too hard to shoot 210 to be a fluke and those that do really have it down.
Fred is 10 and his rimfire score average is 120-ish even if his centerfire score was only 81 both times. Like Ashoot put it, his form is good and he understands what to do and how too be safe so it is only a matter of time.

The weather was perfect. Any warmer and the snow would have been wet and sticky. Praise God. I think alot of people don't understand that outdoor shooting sports in the winter are really quite fun. Good news here also is that the RWVA has instructors that are not afraid and  routinely turn out for these shoots.

The frozen tundra comes from Green Bay doesn't it? I think that since Suamico is just north of Green Bay we get to name our shoot the Frozen Tundra shoot. Sorry NY, yous guiys r out cha hosers. eh? er no?      Garand69, EEL, I may need some back up on this. Us in fly over land need to stick together. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Speaking of G69....did you notice the mats we used. :cool2:

Congrats Bedford, great to work with you again.

Welcome abord Mike, good to have you. O0

Sorry everyone that went to this shoot. I had pre-registered for Sunday the 14th. I was really looking forward to this shoot but as it turns out I was lucky enough to contract a flu virus that would prevent me from going.  $$-0

Seems as if it would have been a great shoot to attend. Good to see that some folks did go and got something done.  :~
