Project Appleseed

We had a great Mini Appleseed Sunday Jan 3, 2010 at our Home on the Range at Sac Valley. My official capacity at this function was photographer. Bald Dragn was, as always a great Shoot Boss. We had some fellow Seeders from New Mexico come and help out Line Bossing and RSOing. And unfortunately for me, I know them only as Ryan and Geneva. Once BD posts his AAR their forum names will become a non mystery. I had to have a somewhat decent entry comment prior to posting the pics. Hope this will suffice.

Jules

We had some great company this weekend. It was out pleasure to host Precisely Advantageous and Frefyrefly's friends and family + a few Sac regulars in our mini.

We unleashed the firehose of information on them, several were new to shooting, and I was amazed at the natural talent we were presented with.

I really wanted to get in the three strikes AND an AQT, so starting from the beginning I hogged the show and kept the pace of instruction as fast as possible. Our quitting time on the range during the winter is strictly enforced at 16:30. We accomplished everything we set out to do and as the last shooter was finishing up the redcoats the manager Jack pulled up to see who was shooting after closing.

If we had the full two days with the talent I saw I'm sure we would have had a few new Riflemen, but all the same we had a wonderfull time with, as usual, some of the best people you could ever hope to meet.

Precisely Advantageous and Freefyrefly, I hope you have a safe trip home, and please say hello to all our friends in the great south west, I hope to come visit you guys some day. To the rest, Im looking forward to seeing you in three weeks.

Now I know why Appleseed events are 2 days, 'cause 1 day is not enough!
I asked one of the shooters if they had a good time and if they were going to attend another Appleseed, the reply was something along the lines of, for sure, it was a great time and one day is just a tease. I agree!
It seems to me that BaldDragn is a natural when it comes to putting people at ease. A few of the shooters hadn't touched a firearm since they shot with their dad when they were kids. You could tell they were a bit uncomfortable.
As the morning went on and the instruction started you could see them become more at ease with the rifle and more confident in their abilities.
BaldDragn is an asset to the Appleseed family. As is Jules, she gave a inspirational talk about the empowerment of a woman that comes with the mastery of a rifle and how that will transfer to other aspects of life. Not just women Jules, that was a wonderful bit of motivation for the new shooters.

It was a pleasure to meet Precisely Advantageous and Freefyrefly they have the Appleseed spirit in them.

I do believe we will be seeing some of their family members back for an Appleseed.

It's nice to put a face to a name so meeting Nukechaser was great, new rifle and all.
(Neil) Actually Russ, wanted to shoot a rifleman score so badly, but it was not to be so he'll be back for sure later this year. His end of day red coat inspired him.

As for me, hanging out with fellow Appleseeders is too good to pass up, and in all honesty, I had nothing better to do.

The mini provided by BaldDragn, Jules and Nukechaser was definitely just a taste tester for my family and friends. They really enjoyed learning to shoot and they all heard the story of how the ones who came before us made it so that we have another option which is voting. I believe we will all benefit from the mini since more Americans are now awakened and are going to help spread the message of get up and get out there and do something about it. BaldDragn sends his regards to the New Mexico crew and I would like to thank you again California seeders I hope to see you all again. I also have a funny feeling that BaldDragn will be seeing more of those mini students in the near future 

I'm hoping to be in your area at the beginning of March if I'm picked for the WSMR event, I hope to see you all then.
