We had 18 shooters on Saturday and 17 on Sunday.

Half of the shooters were ROTC from Pitt State.

Congratulations to Griffin and Nelson on who are now qualified Riflemen.  Griffin if I have misspelled your name let me know and I will edit.

Griffin would have had it on the first AQT Sunday if he had not shot the entire 4th stage on his neighbor's target!  It would have been a beautiful score too.

We saw dramatic improvement from Sat to Sun.  We had several, I would say most, shooters in the 180-200 range by the time we finished up on Sunday.

I was the only instructor on the line but to say I did this myself would be a grave overstatement.

First I want to thank Ben for all his help this weekend.  He found the land, mowed, set post and ran wire.  He was right there when someone had a malfunction, helping with slings, checking the line and wherever he was needed.  This weekend was a success largely due to your help.  Thank you.

Next for certain is Capt. Johnson (Adam Selene) who put the needs of his men above his own.  He made sure they had the tools they needed to get the most from the weekend.  Your leadership skills are inspiring, and it shows in your men.  Thank you.

Third, I say thank you to ksuguy for his help on Sunday and for stepping up and taking and Orange Hat.

I cannot leave out Grandpa Dan for the hospitality.  Thank you for the coffee and the apple.  And for picking up trash even though none of it was your own.

Finally thank you to all the shooters.  You paid attention and worked hard, it showed in your scores.

Keep practicing.  It has been an Honor.

Wow....what a GREAT weekend! Cold and windy, but EVERYONE hung in there and kept shooting. Really appreciate ][he Irishman running the shoot, he did an EXCELLENT job!

Two cadets blew right by that 210 and qualified....congratulations! One local lad came REAL CLOSE, I'm sure he'll nail it next time. Looking forward to seeing AdamSelene and his crew next month!

Had a great time at the shoot!  We had 9 shooters from Pittsburg State University ROTC come out and shoot.  They all learned a great deal from the shoot and are looking forward to the Pittsburg Shoot in NOV.  Here are some pictures from the shoot including our two new Riflemen (notice Rifleman Griffin marked the crap out of his target with a red marker before he shot to ensure he would shoot at the right target).  I'll shoot a plug out here for any instructors in the MO, KS, AR, OK area...we need instructors for the Pittsburg shoot NOV 7-8, please let me know if you can come and support the shoot.

I wasn't there on Day 1, but they all looked to be shooting pretty well on day 2.  I wouldn't be surprised if you have a few more make rifleman next month.
