Five registered plus a walk on as one of the attendees brought his other son as well. Ably assisted by Grizzled One and SamD, the attendees were treated to a bevy of historical nuggets while absorbing the 3 Strikes. All agreed that Mr Adams needed to smile! By the end of Saturday, all were tired but had improved immeasurably. One of the attendees was an 8 year old boy whose Big Brother sponsor ( a SSGT at Ft Bliss) brought him along. We assigned Grizzled One to be his constant companion and the two got along famously. Little Jessie learned safe rifle handling, rifle care and cleaning as well as basic marksmanship>his groups went from all over the paper to about 2 MOA. No problems with wandering muzzles or attention- Jessie was pumped. Joe G, who brought Jessie is a single soldier and thought Appleseed was a hoot. He returned Sunday along with (semi-retired Marine) Ricky R. Both made Rifleman on Sunday with ease. Ricky- 231. Joe with a 228.Joe will bring Jessie back again as soon as Jessie finishes telling the rest of the barrio how much fun he had. At least that's what Jessie's mom said. Since this was Ricky's third Appleseed( He has been a walk on twice), he also accepted the Orange Hat and will be making inroads with the local National Guard and Marines. Joe indicated he would like to become an instructor as well. I explained the 2 Appleseed rule and suggested he come back to the one in June and bring a bunch of strangers. he'll be working on that.
Two gentlemen I will be happy to have by my side. Anytime.
Rifleman. That says it all.

WestTX.

Wow!  That is the BEST AAR I have ever read.  Here is a story about a man that has stepped up in so many ways, as a Big Brother, serving in the military, bringing along a friend that will surely help the program grow, and agreeing to become an IIT.  Isn't that what Appleseed is about?  Joe G., you are my hero!  Thanks for sharing that story, WestTX.  A good way to start my Memorial Day off right!

Appleseed is full of good people James E., full of them.

That young man was having more fun than the law allows and so was I, there is nothing like watching a youngster learn the rifle. Makes me feel real good.

Looking forward to having Ricky and Joe on the team, great guys and they'll be sevenths stepping right briskly.

We also had an LEO and his sons on board Saturday.   They will be back too.
