VAshooter

We have completed our first IBC in Virginia at the Virginia Dedicated Appleseed Range near New Canton, VA. On a very rainy Friday morning we gathered at "Woody's Garage" hereafter known as the classroom. Six students and four instructors were on hand with VAshooter talking, Dinky Dao taking notes and Old dog and Truculent Turtle filling out the instruction and keeping us on track.

I had just downloaded JB's newest lesson plan and it is great. It now covers all the stuff I've been meaning to tell him to add. We were able to finish day one and day two right on time. Day three, Sunday, we couldn't shoot until noon so we went over JB's new history section which Dinky downloaded Saturday evening at ArpJoe's request.

The new history section is not just a retelling of "the story" for new instructors. Every instructor, even those of us who think we know how to tell the story, need to download this lesson guide and read it and study it and spend some time thinking about how best to present it at Appleseeds. JB has given new direction to telling the story and by venturing down this path we may all be closer to equaling Guy's ability to hold a crowds attention and wake up the sleeping American.

I would like to welcome arpjoe, Bulkhead, FiremanEd, and VAwolf as well as David and Ralph, (our two as yet unnamed IIT's) as Appleseed Instructors In Training to the fold. Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina will benifit from your service.

The Machine

Lousy weather aside, you had a good turnout and the gathering sounded very productive. Did you get to shoot out to 400 yards?

I can't wait to see you guys test your new "chops" at our AS in April. Looking forward to seeing both of you (VAshooter, Old Dog) at Stinson.
