Project Appleseed

Project Appleseed held the first newly revamped Pistolseed in middle Tennessee 17-18 October at Mountain Top Gun and Archery Range in McMinnville.  Many thanks to the great folks at Mountain Top for hosting us again!  We had nine shooters, with three of them new to Appleseed.

I apologize for not getting pictures of all the shooters; please feel free to add more photos or comments in the thread.

We enjoyed the Mountain Top clubhouse for the welcome, history and safety instruction, then moved out to a cool and windy day for more instruction.  Line Boss Tennessee Hangfire ran the relays, and shooters processed lessons learned to improve very quickly.

Maximum Effort presented the Second Strike at lunch and then we were back on the range for a quick review and more instruction.  Shooters enjoyed the magazine change and malfunction drills, the moved on to Ball and Dummy.

Booney presented a rousing Third Strike, and then we were back for another PQT:

Sunday morning was much warmer, but we stayed inside for more history and the review of Saturday's instruction.  The Sunday morning Hits Count target showed what rested shooters could do, with three hitting the 100-yard target, two hitting the button, and one clearing it!  Shooters did some one-handed practice, then had time to practice what they wanted before another PQT.

Shooters continued to improve all afternoon, and ArmyVet became the first to score Pistoleer!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the new Pistolseed format, and all expressed the desire to return for the next event.  Keep an eye on the forum and we will get another Pistolseed scheduled soon. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the range!

Woohoo! I love that range.  Sounds like a good event.  The October targets look great!  Congrats, ArmyVet!

Awesome! Congratulations Rick!
