Project Appleseed

We had yet another great event at the LeRoy Rifle and Pistol Club.

Thanks go our shooters Dave, Doug, Noah, Steve, Phil, Mel, Greg, Brent, Abigail, Jessie, and Jeremy for a safe event and a great weekend. Our fantastic volunteers AK, Shooter 3006, Vopps, Peper 5150, and WarriorPoet were great at working with out shooters and the improvement over the weekend was well earned.

Our first Hits Count had great results and a solid starting point 100:4, 200:1, 300:2, 400:2, Shingle:1. My wooden nickels stayed safe for now. As we worked though the points of instruction great groups quickly took shape, and some inspiring history was shared. While our first AQT didnt mint any rifleman, it showed that many of our shooters were knocking on the door. We wrapped it up with a Red Coat, and it showed we had learned, but were tired. 100:2, 200:4, 300:1, 400:1, Shingle:2 Cleaned: 0

We closed with a discussion on our responsibilities to get involved and strive to keep the liberties our founders fought for strong for our postarity, and while we may not get called to make the hard choices like Isaac Davis, we can make an easy one and participate in the vote, get involved, and fight apathy.

A solid nights sleep showed that the instruction had stuck, and our shooters had improved. The AM Hits Count cost me 3 wooden nickels. 100:0, 200:3, 300:1, 400:5, Shingle:5, Cleaned:3 Congrats on some great shooting!

Some review and a little sitting practice got us ready for an AQT, and it was worth it. Doug(211), Brent(230), and Jeremy(234) requalified and Phil became a Rifleman with a 222. Huzzah! Greg also earned a Rifleman score on AQT#2 with a 225. Steve, Mel, Abigail, and Jessie were so close by the end of the day with scores between 190 and 203. With a little practice, next time i am sure you will earn your patch as well.

Our last red coat on Sunday awarded a few more nickels, 100:0, 200:3, 300:2, 400:3, Shingle:4 Cleaned: 2

Congrats to all our shooters, and thanks again volunteers!
