On a cool Saturday morning, four shooters and three instructors gathered for a weekend of marksmanship and history. We were all glad for a break from the summer heat. Both mornings began in the mid 50's, but quickly warmed into the low 80's by mid afternoon.

We began with the usual opening remarks, then heard the first strike from Cokeguy. Next came the most important lessons - safety. After that, we shot the morning hits count and discovered that we had some things to work on.

The marksmanship lessons began, covering eye dominance, the tripod of pistol marksmanship (grip/stance, sights, and trigger), dryfire, and readiness check. Each of these blocks were reinforced with practice along the way. The first string of live fire told us we had some serious shooters in the group, and it was fun! During lunch, we took those pesky redcoats on to Concord and talked about Isaac Davis and the North Bridge skirmish.

Next we covered talking targets and rapid fire before switching it up with one-handed shooting. Then came reloading, target transitions, controlled pairs, and slow fire. All of these blocks and supporting drills were in preparation for the afternoon's PQT. When we were finished we discovered a new Pistoleer. Price qualified with a 220!

We had to get those redcoats back to Boston, so UpAcreek gave us the third strike. After some closing remarks from Cokeguy and the shoot boss, we called it a day.

Sunday morning came with the same beautiful weather. After morning remarks, Cokeguy told us about the Black Robed Regiment. Those stories seemed appropriate for Sunday.

We reviewed the fundamental blocks from Saturday, covered safety, then shot the hits count again, seeing some good improvements over Saturday morning. We then covered Ball and Dummy and malfunction drills - what fun!

We had study hall - work on whatever you want for 10 minutes, followed up by one handed practice. Then we shot our first PQT of the day.

At lunch, we heard some DOM's, then performed the Whitlock drill, which everyone enjoyed. We shot a couple more drills and two more PQT's. Price qualified again with a 213, and Cokeguy requalified with a 212.

Congrats to our Pistoleers, Price and Cokeguy. Herb, Jean, and Welton, you all improved greatly. Great work! I encourage everyone to continue to dryfire.

It was a joy to have you all on the line. Thank you for coming, and we hope to see you again soon.

My thanks to UpAcreek and COkeguy for your help this weekend. It was greatly appreciated.

If you have photos, feel free to post them.
