What do you get when you add 2 State Coordinators, and 4 Students? A great Pistol Clinic in Albuquerque New Mexico. The weather started great on Saturday morning. Temps in the 60's and a slight breeze. 4 Shooters arrived to the City of Albuquerque Shooting Park ready for a weekend of Pistol Marksmanship and History.

With the target and firing line set up thr day was ready to start. MAHA started with history and then we transitioned into the Safety Breif. The Morning Hits Count target held mixed results and into the instruction we went. Students were attentive and eager to learn. Kelly and MAHA taught them everything about Pistol Marksmanship they know.

The wind picked up in the afternoon and we posted the PQT. The first one had great results with David and Patrick hitting above 210 and earning their Pistoleerâ„¢ Patch.

Sunday morning the wind was blowing strong. We reviewed all the information from the day before answered a few questions. After the Safety Brief we posted and shot the Hits Count. After the Hits Count we jumped into Ball and Dummy. MAHA always says the Ball and Dummy is to Pistols what Talking Targets is to Rifles. Since we had a smaller class we had one student shoot and the others watch to see how they can improve. Some flinching and trigger control was noted.

We shot Ball and Dummy a few more time and watched at the Students improved, the errors they were doing just a few shots ago went away.

We posted the PQT and had some great scores to show. After a few PQT we asked the students what they wanted to practice. One Handed Shooting was the topic of review. We practiced on a few large tombstone targets. Once student felt good we posted Page Two of the PQT and shot Stages 3 and 4 several times. The goal was for everyone to shoot 20 points or more. Once everyone was shooting 20 or better we went on to Stage 5.

Sunday we mixed in a few rounds of Big Dot Little Dot and had some fun between PQT. With the wind getting worse we wrapped up the day with a Hits Count Target and a few words from MAHA.

So what is Project Appleseed Business?  What would the Ghost of Project Appleseed say to us?

"Business!'" cried the Ghost of Project Appleseed, wringing its hands again.  "Liberty was my business; Heritage, History, Freedom, and Pursuit of Happiness, were, all, my business. The deals of Marksmanship were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!"
-Adapted from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.
