What an amazing weekend! 11 Patriots from MidSouth Riflemen in Memphis drove over. Or should I say Up? Mountaintop, aka Weathertop, did not disappoint. Big shout out to this range too. They are always very hospitable and it was good to be back.

After brief intros and an overview of the weekend, we jumped right in. We began with some classroom work. IMC, IMC w/ Milliradians, Trajectory, Come-ups, How to shoot the AQT, Data Collection, Safety, and finally we moved to the range.

Our first target of the day was already waiting for us. Morgan's Shingle. Wileycoyotee had even attached a blinking indicator to it when he and Tenessee Hangfire erected it at 250 yards. Everyone took turns in their attempt and we had 2 people hit it. Congratulations Hutch and EagleKeeper!

Next we got to work at 100 yards and did some data gathering, and a Ball & Dummy exercise, before stage 1 of the AQT. Then we moved to 200 Yards, did more data gathering shot stage 2 of the AQT just as rain started to roll in.

We broke for lunch and retreated to the classroom. The shooters ate and listened to the story of Timothy Murphy. They also heard about Wind, Temperature, and Elevation. Finally the rain lightened up and we hit the range again.

We moved to 300 yards, did data gathering and stage 3 of the AQT. Then we moved to 400 with more data gathering and just squeaked in stage 4 of the AQT before fog rolled in. We called it a day an closed things out listening to the story of Prince Estabrook. Final scores were tallied and we had 2 people qualify!  ^:)^

Whit got a 45!

NP (Doc) got a 49 and earned a distinguished patch!

Sunday, we took off running again. We started with the classroom. The rain yesterday had soaked the range making it very muddy and 1 truck almost got stuck. So, we let things dry out as much as we could. We began with Shooting on an angle, Moving targets, Target Detection, Range Estimation, and safety. Also, TigerDriver had been a shooter Saturday and joined us Sunday to help out, marking his 25th event!

When we finally hit the range! The shingle was waiting once again. The shooters took turns and this time Junior and NP (Doc) were able to nail it. Huzzah!

It was soon back to work again with a ranging exercise at 100 yards.

We were able to then sneak in one AQT with no-sighters. Whit re-qualified with a 44! Several others were really close. We broke for lunch and heard the story of Ephraim Brank and the Battle of New Orleans

After lunch, we were able to shake out two more AQTs. And we did the Liberty Volley.

Whit re-qualified Distinguished with a 49 and a 48!  :---

Junior earned his Rifleman patch and his KD Rocker with a 41! Huzzah!  ^:)^

Well done shooters! Congrats to those who patched! As I said, many of you cam very close. I commend you all and loved working with you. I hope to see you again on the Appleseed Trail.
