This past weekend at AAFG Annapolis, shooters of all experience levels came together for a rewarding and memorable Project Appleseed 25-meter event—two days that blended practical rifle skills with powerful American history.

Day one focused on building solid fundamentals. Participants worked through the core skills that make accurate rifle shooting possible: steady positions, natural point of aim, sight alignment, and smooth trigger control. Whether brand new or experienced, everyone had the chance to sharpen their technique and see real improvement on the line.

Day two brought it all together. Shooters put their skills to the test by running several Appleseed Qualification Tests (AQTs), with impressive results—three participants requalified, and two of those earned Distinguished scores. That kind of performance speaks to both the dedication of the shooters and the effectiveness of the instruction.

But Appleseed is about more than marksmanship. Throughout the weekend, instructors shared the stories of April 19, 1775—the day ordinary citizens stood their ground and helped shape a nation. Participants heard about individuals like Prince Estabrook, whose courage reminds us that the fight for liberty was carried by people from all walks of life.

The weekend concluded with a moving memorial volley honoring those who gave their lives during the opening moments of the Battles of Lexington and Concord—a moment of reflection that tied together the skills learned on the range with the history that inspired them.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this weekend such a success. Your focus, effort, and willingness to learn are what make these events truly worthwhile. Stay committed to the journey—every round downrange and every lesson learned brings you one step closer to becoming a Rifleman.

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers—Liberty Boy, Tredian, and YidingPudding—whose time, instruction, and passion made this event possible. And sincere appreciation to AAFG Annapolis for providing such a fine range and hosting us for the weekend.
