Project Appleseed

Many of you Im sure have been to Petrarca Range at Camp Perry and had the occasion when shooting or competing to work with or meet Mike Conrad. Ive been told Mike has passed. He'd suffered with cancer and was battling bravely but it was not to be.
Id been to the range just a couple weeks ago and luckily got a chance to talk to him by phone along with another employee during my visit there. He was his usual upbeat self.
I have a special place in my heart because of Mike's kindness and helpfulness to me. He was probably the closest thing to a shooting buddy and friend I have. He'd coach me, give me advice, spend a little time and encourage. We'd talk about music, he'd let me know when ammo came in to CMP. He LOVED a band called The Warning, even had a tattoo. I will miss you Mike.

Mike will be missed by many.

That stinks.  It's good to know that he's leaving behind a legacy of mentorship and friendship with so many people.
