After Action Report
Appleseed Pistol Clinic (APC)
Orlando, FL, Jun 7-8, 2025

It was another great opportunity to share liberty, pistol marksmanship and Revolutionary War history. Nine students came out to brave the early summer heat and humidity on an otherwise beautiful June weekend. The Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club again proved to be excellent hosts to Appleseed. Club President, Ernie Myers, stopped by about noon to ensure we felt welcome.

We followed the standard course of fire.  After introductions, the First Strike of the Match and safety briefing the Hits Count Target was engaged. Evelyn demonstrated she had some experience with a pistol by clearing the target. HUZZAH! We then dove into the  techniques and skills required to shoot safely, accurately and quickly. The students were eager to learn and apply what we showed them.

After a nearly full day of instruction and application of the skills the students were ready for the first  Pistol Qualification Test (PQT) of the day.  John M proved he was up to the task scoring a 212 to qualify for the first time. A second PQT showed Ryan G knew how to shoot with a requalification score of 226. LouieLouie, one of the instructors, stepped up to requalify with a 220, shooting a 9mm pistol.

Sunday we did a rinse and repeat of the pistol skills and shot an additional five PQTs interspersed with a few new drills. John M again shot expert scores to prove Saturday was not a fluke. Several of the students proved to be Pistoleros of note by nearly achieving the minimum Pistoleerâ„¢ score of 210. John F repeatedly teased us with scores of 206, 208 and 209. Carolyn, Evelyn and Sara all shot in the 180's. Eduardo, Manuel and Nicole all showed improvement during the clinic. They all said they will be back again in September if they don't make it to an APC elsewhere.

During lunch on Sunday Malabar (Tom) regaled us with the story of Two Sams and a brief history of the Second Amendment. Tom is an accomplished story teller and we always appreciate his presentations.

Sunday afternoon came too soon and although everyone was hot and tired we regretfully had to call it a day.

Thank you to the students for persistence and enthusiasm and to the instructors for their skill and teamwork. It was an awesome group!

It was a great event and we can't wait to attend the next one. I really enjoyed the story about "The two Sams". Everything we learned we will practice in preparation for the next one - like I said during the event - to me it's more fun than a trip to Disneyworld. :~

AWESOME!  Can't wait to make it to the Orlando range!
It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
