Project Appleseed

Another fantastic Pistol Clinic at Top Gun Memphis! We had a couple of returning shooters aa well as those attending their first Appleseed Pistol Clinic. A huge thank you to Top Gun Memphis for hosting this event! TigerDriver sets up the events and shooters keep coming out to shoot and hear a little about liberty.

TigerDriver got us on the range and checked in the shooters and Old Navy Doc started the program with safety. We got busy shooting and working on fundamentals. We had our lunch break in the classroom and shared some stories from the founding of our Nation.  After lunch we looked at transitions, malfunctions and shooting with one hand before taking a run at the Pistol Qualification Test. Everyone stayed focused and showed improvement. All our shooters were solidly in the triple digits with Thomas and Cynthia scoring 182 and 193 respectively. Darn close to making the score for the first time running the PQT. Marty and Brent were both working a flinch out of their centerfire pistols (Marty with irons) while still shooting PRs of 132 and 162. David made a run at 230 and then came back to qualify with his centerfire – nice! TigerDriver and Mike continued their friendly competition with TigerDriver managing the high score for the day but Mike winning the Big Dot / Little Dot challenge.

After the dust had settled, we had three shooters make a qualifying score! The top score of the day was TigerDriver with an impressive 241! This is the second Distinguished Pistol patch I've been present for. Mike turned in a 235.

This is a fantastic site to teach at. The students were great to work with and all showed improvement. Thank you all for a great time!
