It was a COLD event at WCW Shooting Sports, and only the bravest and most persistent Americans were willing to tough it out for our 1-day event.  Only five of the hardiest Washingtonians joined us to learn about their American Heritage.

We started our event by engaging the Hits Count Target and were immediately faced with some equipment issues - the cold is cruel to rifles too!  Cameron had to switch rifles and Benjamin fought to keep his running.  Despite these challenges, we still had one shooter clear the target!

Once our instructors started doing what they do best we quickly saw groups shrink and scores improve.  With nearly a 1:1 instructor:student ratio, everyone benefitted from plenty of attention and we were able to move quickly through our course of instruction.

Shooters had 2 opportunities to earn their Rifleman patch, and the Shoot Boss offered a Winterseed patch while temperatures remained below freezing in our shaded range (a rarity in these parts)!  One of our return shooters claimed that Winterseed patch - Eric C. put up an impressive 228!  The rest of our shooters showed excellent improvement between our two AQT rounds and I know we'll see some of them back in the future.  These folks have the grit it takes to become Riflemen.

Shooters - thank you for joining us this weekend!  Remember that the cheapest and easiest way to improve your skills is dry practice at home.  As always, ensure you have no ammunition in the room with you when you dry practice, and to always practice all 6 steps of firing the shot each time you SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEZE that trigger!

A special thanks to Corgi_in_a_Gundam, Doc Sporseen, IBorche, and PNWCarrier.  It was a privilege to freeze out there with you!

Of course, no AAR would be complete without a few pictures.  Thanks to PNWCarrier for remembering to take some!
