Project Appleseed

What a beautiful weekend to celebrate our freedoms with a SOLD OUT event at the magnificent campus of Patriot Academy!  Our group of patriots was greeted to blue skies and perfectly chilly fall morning air.

With several novice rifle shooters, we began with a Redcoat as the first target of the day before jumping into a heavy dose of marksmanship instruction.  Our Shoot Boss, GenX Minuteman, did a great job telling the story of defiance with the First Strike of the Match.  Later in the day, Malibu explained the resilience of the militia as well as the literary, political, and agricultural significance of the tiny town of Concord, Massachusetts in his retelling of the Second Strike.  Ghostring brought us home to Boston in his animated telling of the return on Battle Road in the Third Strike.

After lunch on Sunday, we invested time in the ball and dummy drill and... boy, did it pay off!   A couple AQTs later and we had eight shooters repeatedly scoring in the 180's to low 200's, with several just shy of the required score of 210.

Overall, the instructor core had the privilege to welcome three new patriots into the ranks of Appleseed Riflemen:

Huzzah!  We also had two Rifleman re-qualification scores: Nathaniel (239 – with a bolt action!) and Randy (246) earning the new version of the Distinguished Rifleman rocker.
 
During our final Redcoat target of the weekend, 100% of the shooters showed that they DO have what it takes to defend their families by clearing the 100 yard target.
