Project Appleseed

This weekend had gorgeous weather.  We had sunny days with temperatures between 70 - 76 degrees.  We had eight women shooters for the weekend, most of whom were beginners.  They all did really well; seven shooters scored at least 190 points or above at some point during the weekend.  We got two requalified riflewomen and added another woman to the list of Maryland riflewomen.  That same woman cleared the Hit Counts target at the end of the weekend and earned an Immortal 400 patch (our state patch).  Our shooters upheld the heritage and skills of the markswomen who came before us. Also, our oldest shooter, at age 82, was shooting at a bench and scored a high of 228.  She received a Project Appleseed patch for her efforts and persistence during the weekend.  A big Huzzah to all of our students this weekend.  Also, Pheobe lead the weekend with great stories of women of the Revolutionary War.  Her passion for those stories did a service for the Appleseed program to show that women can tell their stories with great passion. And to round out the weekend, Agent711 gave his usual excellent history for all to hear.

It was such a great event! Maxine had a fantastic time and is excited to return...as am I!
