What a great weekend of an American Tradition.  We had 10 shooters on the line.  This line had a lot of family on it.  With spouses and parent/child making up the majority, it was a tradition to behold.  GregM and Ryan were our rock stars of the weekend with consistent Rifleman scores.  Rudy took the most improved award.  She went from nothing on the initial Hits Count target to discernible groups by the end of the first day.  Ivan was able to break the Rifleman barrier with a 219 and then followed up with a 211 to show it was not a fluke.  Most of shooters we getting into better scores as the days progressed.  High scores had Bonnie-199, GregD-161, Cathy-176, Brad-162, KT-204, and Dan-136.  Some more dry-fire and implementing the 3 pillars of marksmanship will have you across the line.

The weather took it toll on the participants, but everyone persisted and had a good time.  The history, our shared heritage as Americans, was shared in great form.  As a shoot boss, it is great to see our volunteers take on new tasks.  I got to witness an incredible team of IITs present History, and POIs all weekend.  We ended our weekend with Warriorpoet earning his Red Hat.  A task well done!

Great weekend all around! Many thanks to our boarder raiders, and growing Illinois team. We had a great group of shooters as well with great interaction on the line and during history and breaks. Some pics will follow when I get them off the phone.

Thanks you to Geek and the entire team of volunteers for sharing your enthusiasm and patriotism this weekend.  Bonnie & I enjoyed this, our 2nd event, and we look forward to polishing our skills so we came earn our patches at a future event.  I made improvements on my standing & seated performance, but I still need a lot of dry fire practice to get more comfortable in prone.

Looks like a great weekend. Congrats to all the participants who spent the weekend learning marksmanship and the history of the beginning of our great country. Sorry I missed this event,  probably the first in many years.

Most I am sorry I missed Warriorpoet getting his Red Hat. I was there when he made the even dozen and saw him progress through the many steps to become an outstanding instructor. Congratulations Mike!!!

The photo was lost to the editing floor someplace.  ChuckA got his '10 Event' pin too.  A great achievement as well.

Congrats ChuckA.  If someone has a pic, please upload it  :slap:

Two things that might improve scores:

1. For sight in gives options of using bipod or sandbags and having an instructor verify zero.

2. On rimfire scopes page includes scopes that can be adjusted for zero parallel error at 25 yards: The Arken LH4 4-16x can focus down to 10yd.

Event was helpful in accuracy and had carryover improvement in pistol practice.
