Special thanks to the Mingo Rod & Gun Club for hosting us yet again.  They donated their entire 100 yard rifle range to us for the weekend, and were very helpful in all aspects of getting ready for the weekend at an Appleseed Rifle Clinic.  We will certainly be back there again next year.

The weather was great both days, sunny and cool, and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend of marksmanship and heritage!  The shooters all persevered through the firehose of instruction and greatly improved as the weekend progressed.  We worked through the day proceeding from demonstration to dry fire practice to live fire confirmation of our marksmanship instruction, combined with history and heritage.  A few equipment fitting issues were quickly corrected, and all were resolved effectively.  Everyone was very receptive to the course of instruction.  History and heritage were well received and there were some great discussions.

Everyone returned on Sunday, as we worked through more drills in the morning (as we can't shoot until after 10:00 AM), and all showed great improvement as the day progressed. By Sunday afternoon everyone had the process down pretty well and we proceeded at a good pace. The Time Monkey stayed off our backs, and many AQT's (including two Rapid Fire AQT's) were shot.  Stage 4 proved the most elusive, but pasting black squares over the targets seemed to help, showing that the seemingly tiny Stage 4 targets were actually bigger than the squares they had been hitting all day!

The shooters showed those pesky Redcoats the strength of our cause on both the AQT and Hits Count Targets, and we have three new Rifleman to add to our cadre, David, Blake and Ben, and four who requalified, Tim, Shawn, Scotty and Mike. And three shooters cleared the Hits Count Target – Scotty, Mike & Ben - and several got close trying it sitting!  Huzza!

Thanks to all the shooters and the Mingo Rod & Gun Club for a great weekend.

A great event!

It was a wonderful weekend!  It was great to see so many NEW patriots along side many we have shared the trail with many times.  I hope to see several of you back again and in a nice new ORANGE HAT would be even better!
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

It was good to do a little border raiding and help out the Pennsylvania cadre.  The weather was good, the shooters were great and the fellowship around the figurative liberty pole was awesome.  The icing on the cake was being there when my own son finally shot his first Rifleman score.  Once the mental barrier was broken, he repeated it several times.

I had huge fun as usual. I heartily appreciate Mike bringing part of his awesome collection of Revolutionary arms and accoutrements. The lectures and stories by Mike, Chuck, and Chris were mighty entertaining. Very nice to see new, young riflemen and old ones too! I'll see you guys again on the range!
