We had nine shooters on a beautiful, overcast morning with rain predicted. Due to the possibility of rain, we handled the administrative and safety portions of the morning and got out to the line to start our instruction.

The morning hits count target gave us a start for our weekend with a 5-4-0-1-0 count.

We jumped into the instruction and spent the morning learning and applying it to various drills. The rain mostly went around us, and in the afternoon, we listened to the history and shot two PQTs. We finished with a 6-3-0-0-0 on the final hits count for Saturday.

Sunday was another overcast day, and seven shooters returned to continue pursuing marksmanship and heritage. The opening hits count target was 4-4-2-1-1. Congratulations to Doug for clearing his hits count target.

The morning consisted of various drills, PQTs, and instruction, and several of our newer shooters made marked progress.

Bailey deserves special mention for winning our dueling targets fun shoot!

We ended the day with one new Pistoleer™ (Congratulations, Doug!) and three re-qualifications (Congratulations to Jason, Messer454, and Sparky117!).

Despite the overcast nature, the combination of a small group's speed and the heat left us tired on Sunday afternoon. The final hits count target showed the weekend's progress with a 4-3-1-2-0.

We had a wonderful time at the Shelby County Sheriff's Range and look forward to our next opportunity at this great range.

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful weekend. I hope to see you all on the Appleseed Trail again soon.

Hi Cody,
Did you record my pistol scores,  I think I managed a Distinguished score on the first PQT.  As soon as I get a regular rifle red hat. I'd like to start doing more with the Pistol clinics.  I'm better with the short gun and big targets than I am with the long gun.  Thank you for the opportunity to shoot and help with the instruction.

Hello Cody.  I attended your pistol clinic in Sydney OH June 8-9.  Was shooting a Springfield XD45 Didn't sign up as a student, IIT orange hat and wanted to help as an instructor. I wanted to see how the pistol clinics are conducted as well.  I know I shot Pistoleer™ score and think it was distinguished as well.  Did you record that?
