Project Appleseed

Well, there's no doubt about it.  It's summer time in Texas 

Despite the heat, the North Texas crew was pleased to assist in another fantastic shoot at the world-famous Goin Firearms & Shooting range in Muenster, TX.

15 people signed up for this event.  Wait . . . is that a sold-out event?  It is! It is a sold-out event!   

This was without a doubt a productive shoot on all sides.  We were thrilled to present THREE new rifleman patches, and comparing the hits count target throughout the weekend clearly demonstrated improvement by everyone.  Way to go team!  ScottInTexas has been side-by-side with the various shoot bosses, and is well on the path to becoming a shoot boss in his own right.  Locke Enload told both strikes 2 and 3 . . . is that a red hat I see in the not-too-distant future?  Hmmm . . .

Many of the participants knew each other and were actually camping onsite.  They were very generous to invite the instructors to a campsite dinner, which was accepted by many with gratitude.  Thank you all!   

A special "thank you!" goes out to MRakestraw.  Unfortunately the shoot boss couldn't quite stay for the full 2 days due to a last-minute travel requirement, but MRakestraw graciously stepped right in to take over running things.  No surprise, as all of his events run smoothly.  Thank you sir!

My one regret for this is that with all the running around, I neglected to take any pictures.  If any of you fine people have some, PLEASE feel free to share here!

Thanks so much to everyone on both sides of the line.  To everyone that was behind a rifle - you did a great job, and you really persisted despite a bit of heat.  I'll look forward to seeing you all at a future event!

A shout out to the persistence of the shooters, as we approached the end of the day, they were given a choice, post a Hits Count or one more AQT.  The shooters gave an enthusiastic "One more AQT!", even with the temps right at the century mark, they wanted more!  Huzzah! A great event all in all, my hat is tipped to everyone at the event, but especially to one of the participants, he was a southpaw working a rifle with right hand controls. As the day went on, and the temperature continued to increase, so did his scores.  Many thanks for great chow on Saturday evening.

Alright, someone help a newbie out. I read Mrs. Smith's how-to, but Imgur looks different.  How do we upload pics for real without resorting to links?
