A weekend well spent for the cause of liberty. We had 10 fellow patriots on the line, all eager to soak up details of our history and rifle marksmanship. Everyone in attendance made a great deal of progress toward that elusive rifleman's patch. We had Tommy who served in the USMC but never knew he was left eye dominant. With this newfound knowledge he determined his best option was to try shooting lefty, and for the first-time shooting lefty he turned in some impressive numbers. With a left-hand center-fire loaner, his fist AQT was a 108 and his last a 172. If Tommy will give us one more weekend, he will earn that patch. Mike, shooting a short barrel, very light weight, Iron sighted 308 bolt rifle, started the day with a 159 and ended the day with a 191, great job Mike. We would love to have you back, and next time bring your wife. Brayden was the youngest in attendance and made a great deal of improvement, he shot a 99 on his first AQT and after a rifle change ended the day with a 185. He ask what a perfect score was on the AQT and when told 250, he stated that was his goal at his next Appleseed. I see lots of dry firing in this young man's future. Charles made steady progress throughout the weekend and ended up with 174 for a high score. John, an adaptive shooter shot a 137 after Mrs Waky worked out a position he could use. John is a tough man who never gave up and I commend him for his persistence. Steven worked hard with his iron sight Ruger, he shot 197 on the last AQT of the day and I know he will reach the magic 210 his next time out. He even thought we were nice folks. Brian was the most improved for the weekend, he started the day with a 68 and with a rifle change and some coaching, shot a 196, 214 and a 230 earning his rifleman's patch. Congratulations Brian. Brian had attended two other events and is considering an orange hat. Thank you all for joining us this weekend it was a blast.
I want to congratulate Waky on his well-deserved promotion to Red Hat. He is an outstanding Instructor.
I would also like to welcome Pop247 to Apple core, congratulations on your new Blue Hat. I look forward to working with you.
I want to thank all the instructors for all they do, this can't happen without you.
Pictures are coming soon.

Thanks so much to Chuck, Kim, and all the instructors (especially Stan, who helped me improve so much) for a very fun and educational weekend! I can't wait to come out to the next one. And to my fellow participants, it was an honor to share this experience with you.

This was another great event at Hurlburt Field!!  ALL of the shooters soaked up all of the instruction and history presented as shown by the steady increase in AQT scores.  On of the things I love most about Project Appleseed events is that the instructors and shooters alike always walk away with new friendships!  Almost every shooter scored in the Sharpshooter range.  Congrats to Brian on earning his Rifleman patch -- we sure hope to see him take an orange hat at his next event!  Brayden proudly accepted his young patriot William Diamond patch after doing some fantastic shooting throughout the weekend.  I know we will see Brayden back soon -- he is itching not only for that patch, but for a perfect 250 score.  Dad, Tommy, good luck keeping up.  ;D .  It was a blast working with all of the shooters and watching their persistance and progress.  I sure hope to see everyone back soon!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Waky for earning his Red Hat!!!!! and also to Christine L for taking a Blue Hat.  We are very excited and look forward to working with you more!!!

John - hung in there all weekend--a special HOOZAH to Mrs. Waky for providing so much one-on-one instruction!

Great job Tommy!!

Jeff (Charles) was a blast!

Awesome shooting Christine!

Mike - shot a bolt-action .308 all weekend!!!  And he is a GREAT shot!

Steven is oh SO CLOSE to earning his Rifleman patch -- next time!!  He shot iron-sites all weekend!

YAY Brayden!!!

Brian showing off his new Rifleman patch -- He ended up scoring a 230!!!!  His first AQT he scored 68--AMAZING!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

A week later and my rib is still sore, but I can't think of a better way to spend a cold weekend outdoors. Thanks to Jeff (Charles) for the nudge get out there and to the best staff that helped me through some frustrating rifle issues to make it to Rifleman!
I was the final exam as we tried to figure out what was going on. It may have taken three rifles in my third Appleseed, but thank you and it was my honor to come out and have such fun with such a group of fine Americans.

What a great weekend all the shooters progressed through the day with a learning experience.
Thank to Christine (MRS WAKY) on helping me go through the process of getting my Red hat, also thanks to Chuck and Kim for all you do for appleseed.
